If it needs more I may just send the block out. That motor is around 5000.00 for rebuild and $4500.00 after taxes and shipping to Canada. A Used one may still give you smoke and/or burning oil and rebuilders compliane because most parts are oem. Sad

Hi Everyone - I have been working on this job on Saturdays so it is taking some time. I have been taking a few pics and will start posting a few once I learn how. I have the motor striped and the heads sent out to be cleaned with new valve stem seals. The seafoam did do a lot to clean the motor but there was extra slug in the pan that I think was a result of the cleaning it did. So my issue with the smoking oil was with the top rings in cylinder 8 and 6. they were worn right down in width causing the gap f each ring to be too big. There were also about 3 rod bearings that were low enough to replace so I ordered a set of 16. I didn't want to get into rod bearings but it won't take long to plastigage them myself once they arrive. Not a good motor to learn off of and putting it back together will be the real challenge.

Well its been a while. Do the job a few hours on Saturdays took longer than I thought but I finished a few weeks ago. I am now just waiting for a free hoist to start the re-install
