New FX owner

Hey guys,

I just wanted to make my first post and be on my way to the 10 post requirement before I can post pics of my new ride.

Name is James, 25 yrs old and work for the state as an IT Support Specialist.

I recently (about 1 month ago) bought my first Infiniti. It's a 2008 FX35 sport pkg, ~55K miles. I think the color is "Liquid Platinum" with black interior. Paid $25K. I think it was a fair price judging from similar models for sale.

Cars I've owned in the past include:

1991 Acura Integra- Light mods
1994 Honda Prelude SI- Lots of mods, including engine and transmission swap
2002 Acura TL Type-S- Completely stock
2007 Honda S2000-Stock-Currently "Manage" this vehicle for a buddy of mine who races it in SCCA events.

As you can see I'm a Honda guy, but I'm really starting to like Nissan/Infiniti.
Look forward to modding the FX35, first mod will probably be H&R Springs and KYB shocks/struts. I was hoping for some better shocks, but it doesn't appear any are available. And I'm not interested in coil overs.

I've been reading this forum for awhile now and figured I'd go ahead and create an account and say Hi!
 
Welcome to :iS: KYB is the only ready make struts/shocks available for the FX. I would highly recommend Coilovers if you're thinking of H&R springs. I came from H&R springs. Nothing wrong with H&R, I love it. Recently got Kido Coilovers and looking back, I love the ride on coilovers more then with H&R.
Just my $0.02 on suspension and I did aware that you mentioned that you're not interested in coilovers :tongue (2):
 
Welcome to the Scene and Congrats on your new FX purchase. 2008 has some recalls/TSB, I'm sure u can find it within this site.

I've been a fan of the S2000 and the motorcycle brand of Honda as well. Quality is proven from their products.

Welcome! I too was a Honda girl, I loved my Prelude but did trade it in for my first FX and my little sister is back in her 2nd FX after having 2 S2000's and a prelude as well. :)
 
Welcome to IS, James! If suspension is your first mod of choice, which is a good one by the way, is to go with coilovers. Browse around the site and see all the different mods you can do to your FX. :top:
 
Welcome, am sure your ill find a new love within the Nissan/Infiniti family. I came form Acura myself but this is the place and car to be :)
 
Welcome to the Forum. I got mine for almost two weeks now and I'm still amazed at how great it handles in stock trim.
