2005 FX35
Hey guys,

Figured I would post and introduce myself. I'm new to the Infiniti scene but not new to the car world. I spent quite a few years in the performance DSM/EVO world, so I'm very familiar with forced induction and the true performance side of things.

My wife and I just picked up a grey 2005 FX35 AWD, which will be her new daily driver. It has just over 130,000 on it, but from what I understand the VQ can reach upwards of 200,000 with proper maintenance. No crazy plans for this as it will be my wife's car, but I think it'll be a good way for me to introduce her to some of the basics of modding. Plans are to fix the front driver's side door actuator, some kind of intake, plenum spacer, and maybe an exhaust eventually. Beyond that, I'll probably focus on more comfort and driver-friendliness mods like retrofitting bluetooth capabilities.

I don't have any pictures currently but will try to get some up soon. Nothing too crazy to see right now as it's completely stock. Does anyone have any suggestions for good entry-level mods to the interior/exterior or drivetrain that you would recommend? Thanks.

Welcome to the forum Dan! Hopefully your wife will catch the modding bug. Yeah VQ engines when maintained well can go for a long time.

Welcome to :iS2: Dan. Since you mention plenum spacer, why not go with the a full plenum swap. There's on rare plenum on the classified now

Welcome to IS! LOL down below. :ninja:

But those are some good mods to start you out.

Sweet, I will look into the Mediabridge next.

With that said, I broke in the FX this weekend by replacing the driver's side actuator with a universal door actuator! A little louder now, but at least it works right? Sure beats having to manually open the door with my intelligent key everytime..
