Im glad to be part of what seems a very friendly and lively Infiniti Forum, im very new to the car and dont know much about them im still doing my research every day.

Well thats about it i think, i have plenty of questions, and im free to any advice or tips on when looking for one/purchasing one any and all would be greatly appreciated !! I have a ton of questions, but i dont think this is the right place to be posting them.

Thank you !!! yes i surely need some fellow Infiniti lovers assistance and advice, where would be best or acceptable to post questions and things im confused about when it comes to the FX ?

Welcome Abe,
You'll find many answer here and learn more every day. Do a simple search using the search bar and feel free to ask general questions here. Basic questions get basic answers. My advice is to dial in on the features that are available and most important to you. Balancing price, you'll be able to hone in on which FX fits you best.

Thank you all , will do.

Well im going from a beater Ford explorer sport 2001 to an FX, its pretty much like going to lambo in my book , hahaha.

Newb questions of the day :

1) I want one with Nav (sexy + i use the GPS all the time) + Bluetooth (sync with phone) + rear cam (rear cam just to feel cool, i know how to back up lol not a must feature) . i test drove one today, it had none of these features, although drove like a dream, so if i were to purchase that one from today does that mean the screen already in the car will never be able to display a Nav system ? (im confused by falling on some online videos of people popping in DVDS into somewhere in the car, and having the Nav system ? im a computer guy but know nothing about mechanics of a car or this car rather. Any light on this situation would be greatly appreciated, hope i made myself clear.

2) i also test drove another one from the above mentioned one, which was a 2008 compared to the 2005, did i not adjust the seat properly or does it seem to me the chair went back alot farther in the 2008 than the one i drove today (2005), cause for some reason i felt more comfy in the 08, im a big guy i need my space.

(all of the above cars are FX35's, which is what i want)

Welcome to iS! Definitely do a little research to pick out the best for you. Once I saw the '06+ upgrades I knew I wanted that.

Awesome, this is great stuff, see i did not know this. 06 and up has new style interior/upgrades. Ok im gonna try and find some and compare and see what the main differences are.

hey bro, i just got an fx35 and i think ill ever buy another suv ive driving an x5 and it does not match up. Love it uve made a great decision just take ur time it took me 1.5 to get mines

Welcome to IS! Definitely narrow your search down to 2006+ and the tech package. Doesn't seem like it was mentioned before, but '06+ includes some exterior changes as well. The next hardest step is finding the color and interior combo you want!

Abe, welcome to IS and good luck on finding a FX (take your time, get exactly what you want)

Hey, welcome to the Scene (IS). If I get have the opportunity to choose. I will definitely go with 2006 and above. Good luck with your search.

Welcome to IS! Good luck on your search. 06+ is the way to go. Although the 05 and below are still great, the 06+ have some very nice upgrades that I wish I had.

Welcome to the Scene, a little research goes a long way. Good luck on finding the one!

Abe, The options on the 1st generation FX that you are looking for are "Navigation" and "Technology package". The other options you didn't know that you wanted are "Sport" and "Touring", which give you the tuned suspension and 20" factory wheels. Almost all cars that have the technology package also have the sport and touring packages.

If it does not already have factory navigation it is a pain to add it. Different screen and dashboard guts. I would absolutely recommend finding one with navigation and USING it during a test drive because I have heard that the 1st generation navigation is a little clunky and outdated. You might actually want to go for an aftermarket navigation unit that does things exactly the way you want - but this is all up to you of course. All depends on how you feel about what's available to you.

I'm 6'1" and weigh right around 200lbs. In my 2004 (I like the interior just fine, thank you) I do need to move the seat all the way back, but there are four buttons on the seat control that move the seat in other directions to give you more room. Also, the steering wheel has a motorized telescoping feature - allowing you to move the entire wheel and instrument cluster up or down and the wheel towards or away from you.

Good luck on your purchase and definitely use that search bar at the top of the page. It's the easiest way to find a whole bunch of threads on exactly what you are looking for. For some reason I find the search bar on this forum more helpful than any other forum because of the pop-up box with search results.
