New body kit

Welcome to the scene. There is no top secret info. I've posted, there is no kit available. The front mold is and has been done since my FX was done. No sides or rear molds are available.

Doing sides one off one car at a time is expensive, yet molds are expensive as well. In this economy putting up the money for the mock up and the molds for the sides is something I can't do. It would be a few thousand out of my pocket to move forward and how many FX owners want it, how many FX owner want it another way.

Love our community but making my money back seems like it would take a while.
 
Because I understand the cost involve to get a new body kit projet started the only way I would even see such a thing happening is if he were to take donations to contribute to the kit (those that are highly interested) and maybe that would cover the cost. But, to be honest, I ove the kit as much as the next FX owner (may more) but if I were the owner of that beautiful Blue FX, I'm not sure if I would be cool with every body biting my style and would lose my originality of my FX. I'd want to build 2-3 different styles yet maybe similar so when everyone shows up to a meeting, show, etc all the trucks don't look alike. I'm sure all wouldn't want a kit but I think at least 80% would. and that's not even counting those across the globe. So lets see who will put there kit money where their mouth is.:thumpdown::top:$$$$$
 
Actually, rookie's body kit is a one off custom job so there would be no imitating it unless you talk to autoexplosion and are willing to drop off you fx for a month or so. The front piece is the only piece that will look similar because it is from the same mold but it would not be a widebody style as with rookies. The rear and sides would be totally different too.
 
I dont think I would be able to part from my FX for that long and I wouldnt want to go wide body. But very true what you said. I'm workin on something for mine and will see how it turns out. Not beginning that project until 09. $$ has to be right

Rookie, can we still purchase this sometime this year? (front & sides)

I just need to meet one condition for my wife and she said I can buy it. It can take couple of months tho... Yes, she has control of our money... Chinese women are scary.

Don't think that will be available for us Canadian. Simply because the freight cost and the restriction on the max freight size.

But if there are enough orders for the parts in a same area in Canada, I have some connections in logistic company that may able to ship one or two pallet of items for few hundred bucks to a thousand from CA to Vancouver (I work in a heavy industrial enclosure manufacture company). Then by splitting up the transportation cost, then it might be about $150 to $200 per order.

But I still really wish I live in CA.

painted, prefitted, drilled, meshed and all the good stuff

If they cant ship to the east coast of canada. I'll have someone in Cali pick it up for me. It must be a way to ship it. I will not sleep on this kit. Thanks tho White Hair

yeah, like thatll happen. the same thing will happen as last time.....it ends up being like 6k because not enough ppl want it lol
 
Wouldn't be 6k, the front bumper is readily available. Shipping would be a pain since it is so tall. The hang up has always been varying opinions on what the side skirts would be like and the fact that a rear bumper is tough.
