New 7 Speed Transmission Reflash is out (2nd Reflash)

I'm sure the programming has got to be different...different engines, different weights of the car, SUV/cars should handle differently/shift differently so that would be different, etc.

But having said that, I would still think a reflash for a specific trans would cover for all vehicles types...but that's just a guess.

It has to be because when the first reflash came out they were both the same exact TSB numbers.

Just got off the phone with my dealership, and I mentioned that the tranny does not function properly (hard shifts, slow to down shift when cruising,etc..).The service advisor was claiming the cold as a factor(even though the problems happen at operating temperature),and that he has not heard any issues with the 2011. The advisor said that if the problems still persist call him before my 6k service, and they will set me up with a loaner and check the tranny out. My question is, if there is a fix for the tranny, why do they dick you around, should they not just fix it without us having to prove that the problem exists. It seems they are trying to get away with not fixing the car's that people don't complain about(most people probably don't know any beter), when they should just fix them all. Maybe it is just the Canadian dealers that are behind and have not received the T.S.B. we will see in 3k.

If it's still a problem there is something you can do yourself. You can reset the adaptive shift learning. Sometimes you need to make the transmission relearn itself. Just disconnect the battery for 5 minutes and it will reset the adaptive shift learning. Then go out and drive it hard to make it learn to shift the gears a lot more aggressively and responsive. I've noticed that works too.

just went to dealer today for first oil change and they said they have a 2009 TSB but not one for 2010. The tech said to call back in a month or so to see if they've received it. maybe next time...

Just took my car to the dealer for the 1yr service and getting a detail done. Asked them about the TSB and they are going to find out if it applies to my car. Love Infiniti loaners, brand new M37x.

So the 2nd reflash for fx 2009 doesn't exist and if it exists, dealers don't have it yet.

I talked to someone at another dealer and they told me the new programming is in beta testing right now. They can install it, but it's no guarantee.

^ I'll take it once it's out of Beta....I've seen too many Prius' and toyota camry's in beta mode. lol

Any ideas when it's released?

Not really sure. All the manager told we was that it could be 2-4 months before we actually see anything. He said some have complained that the beta reflash actually smoothened out the shifting, but made other things worse lol. So I'll just wait till an official release.

Well they just reset the ECU so nothing to report. The M loaner was sweet, so much more refined than the FX, but the FX rocks in the looks department. The M is just too plain jane.

What's more refined in the M compared to the FX? I love those cars. Definitely going to be my next car in a few years from now.

Yeah it's the same tranny lol.....it makes no sense. Only thing I can think of that may be slightly different is the software programming for the G37 compared to the FX35. The tranny software is programed a little differently for the 3.7L engine than the 3.5L engine since their different engines.

I drive 2009 FX37 and i can confirm there are no any issues with the transmission. Even i asked the dealer before i buy it if they have solution for the transmission problems as i have read here a lot of complains. They said they have never heard about such problems and that 37 runs on completely different soft then 35.

I got the FX after BMW and the gearbox of the FX is MUCH MUCH better. Sometime you can say it shift too slow (i guess you will say "laggy", english is not my first language, sorry), but all you need to do is to put it to "Sport" and then you will feel the real power of the engine. All i can say it is hell of a car. No complains here at all!

That's what I do. My transmission sometimes make the engine stay in this low rpm mode when coasting. I just stick it over into sport mode and power train performance becomes more responsive.
