I am looking to change my stock 20" with 22" wheels. Here are the measurements for the new rims I ordered:
Size: 22x9.5" Offset : +38mm bolt Pattern: 5x4.5"
Is 260/45/r22 fine or do I need any spacer? I am not going to lower the car yet...hehe.
Since I am located in NYC (horrible road), Will 22" be very harsh on the ride compare to stock 20"?
Thanks for your feedback.
I'm going to advocate 265/40/22, I'm not sure if that's what you originally meant.
My reasons are:
1) Closest to OEM tire diameter at 30.3" (slightly varies by tire)
2) Larger sidewall height than 285/35/22, but less buldge
3) on a 9.5" wide wheel, 265/40/22, the actual measuring width is 9.5" and is approved for wheels 9.0"-10.5" width
The latest tire I bought was Goodyear Fortera SL 265/40/22 (insane wear rating 500 A A), but can't go wrong with Hankook Ventus RH06 265/40/22 (420 A A).
The ride is comparable to 265/50/20 I would say and no issues with Chicago roads with the 22's.
I run 265/40/22 on my 22"x9.5" and 22"x9.0".
