New 2005 FX35, but my wife gets to drive it...

Hi, I'm a new owner of a 2005 Infiniti FX35. I got it for my wife, but I figured I would join a forum so I can get easy and quick advice about it (seeing that I'll be the one maintaining it). I'm new to Infiniti and newer cars in general. My last vehicles were a 1986 Ford F-250, 1999 Nissan Altima, 1994 Ford Explorer, and a 2000 Integra GSR. We sold the GSR to get this vehicle. It is the AWD FX35 with 141,000 miles. It runs flawlessly, and is rather fun to drive. Anyway, thought I'd post up. I look forward to chatting and learning about the Infiniti. What are some of yall's general comments about this vehicle?

Welcome to IS! Wooooweeee 141k miles! Congrats you will learn everything you want and more from this site! Get some pictures ready for when you can post them

Sounds like you got a nice FX there. Colour? I have an '04 AWD. Awesome vehicle, and the AWD has saved me from many a nasty snow storm here up north. It is a nice feature to have, if your climate is prone to massive tantrums.

On a related note, I had an '94 Explorer years ago as well.

Welcome to the addiction!

....and I don't drive the FX either....wifey lets me play with it every once in a while.

Nice! Yeah the Explorer didn't last us but a couple of weeks before we had to replace the transmission, starter, brake pads and rotors. However, I still enjoyed driving it, just got unlucky with the maintenance. We switched to the Infiniti for safety, comfort, and performance. It is the diamond graphite. I'll post some pics as soon as I can. Wives always get the fun cars... Yeah we get a little snow here and there, and we are originally from TX so we figured we could use the AWD help we could get since we don't have snow driving experience.

Man, that's quite the lemon! Mine was damn near bullet proof, at least until it was killed by a Civic that slide under the bumper and ripped out the front axle. Survived years of off roading, snow, river FORDing (HEH HEH), etc.

The FX is a far nicer ride to be certain. You will appreciate the AWD for sure. Even having grown up in the snow I still am thankful at least twice a year. That is a beautiful colour you have. Congrats and welcome!
