New '08 FX35 Owner

Hello everyone! I picked up my '08 FX35, black on black, AWD, a couple of weeks ago here in So NH.

It's been long enough to have already purchased a sport pedal kit and smoke tail/back-up lights. They'll go on this weekend. I've got my target set on a black powder-coated T-rex grille and some 20" (or 22") wheels after the snow.

I've been lurking here for awhile. There are plenty of performance mods I'd like to consider but it seems more prudent to preserve my factory warranty. I almost wish I didn't have the CPO warranty extension. Who knows?... maybe I'll selectively choose my mods staying away from the engine/power changes; there could be new springs and STB in the future. How many factory suspension issues can you have anyway?

I own a '04 Ducati Monster S4R which I've modified quite a bit. The forums have always been a great help. It's great to see this Owner's group and all the information.

pretty much none of the popular mods on here affect your warranty...

Thanks all.... First changes complete. Quick and simple. I know most everyone has seen the Sport vs. std tail lights. The "Sport" look great in comparison, if I do say.
I'd post comparison photos BUT, I'm a NOOB and need more posts.

Sport pedals are on as well...

Ken - sup, SUP? Welcome to IS.

Man - most engine performance mods like intakes, exhaust, plenum spacer - don't bother your warranty. Some dealerships even do the installs if you are willing to pay dealership prices. My local dealership (Clearlake Infiniti) has the Stillen exhaust hanging on the wall, and Momo wheels for sale. Beshoff Infiniti in CA just did a supercharger install.

If you do not drive with a heavy foot, these performance mods should up your MPGs by as much as 2.5mpgs (my personal experience). But of course being aggressive does the opposite. I mention this because 2.5 miles per gallon adds up to a TON of cash over the lifetime of the car. Mine just hit 104,000 miles. Imagine the mods I could have purchased with the savings if I had just started earlier!!!

Maybe the local dealer problem with mods is an East Coast thing.
I noticed a dealer in Boston with a NISMO display outside their service and parts desk but, a service manager at the dealer closest to home said they may have problems. I specifically asked about plenum and intake changes and was told if there were valve problems, for example, they could attribute it to the air mods.

I'm encouraged by some of these posts... so I may need to shop around for a friendlier service location.
