Need to lease a beater

My brother just leased a vw jetta tdi stick for like $200 a month with very little out of pocket. He has 15k a year and it gets 35 mpg. Not the fanciest one with roll up windows and such but it serves it's purpose. Also Honda has the 4banger civic cheap too, good luck!

I drive 160 miles round trip everyday just to work and back...so that =
800 miles/week
3200 miles/month

Damnit.... I drive a beater :(

I drive less than 100 miles per month to get to and from work... I have surpassed beater and entered the realm of Tonka Truck.

My commute will be 300 miles a month so that's around 3600 a year. I need something new cause I can't worry about something going bad as small as a bulb or battery.

Haha, this actually made me laugh. You want to get a second car because you are worried about putting an additional 3,600 miles PER YEAR on your car?? Does not seem like the wisest investment to me...but to each his own

This is true

Aaron putting on 300 miles a month sure doesn't warrant leasing a new car. If you have to pick up another car, look for a good used older Honda Civic, slap on some winter tires and you are set for winter and cheap commutes.

100% agree with you. I thought he was going to rake up some serious miles on the FX.

If he really wants a second car (real beater), I'd buy something like Miata for fun project car. But to lease a brand new car for 3,600 miles per year isn't worth it.

Anyone know how reliable Audi A4's are??

A jeep dealer near me has a 2002 Audi A4 3.0l Quattro with 97K miles all maintenance records and such for $5500. It's black with tan interior.

There are reasonably reliable Audis, but the B6 3.0 isn't one of them. Find a 1.8t quattro with a manual transmission if you want a reliable A4. They're also amazing in the snow...

What happens when some guy in a S4 pulls up next to you and he calls that his beater? Might as well just get the S4 as your beater. . . or an A8 . . . or an R8!

From my experience anything German out of of warranty is a no no !!?? I had a MB C300 when they first came out and though it was fairly reliable there was noooo way I was keeping it out of warranty !!
