Need some help on my rims

Hope this post in the correct section but I recently bought a 2008 FX35 and the rims weren't exactly in the best condition. I'm guessing they waxed everything, used tire shine on a dirty car because there are these irremovable streaks on my rims. Yes, my rims aren't clean in the pictures but I can't clean the dark lines. I used a little nail polish remover on a small section of a rim and still nothing. I want to restore my rims and maybe even to a darker color like gunmetal gray but don't want to spend too much. I was thinking about plastidipping them anthracite and adding gloss on top; I love the color on their DYC Youtube vid. Any ideas on what I should do guys? Thanks and a Happy New Year to everybody!

These pictures look big sorry don't know how to make them smaller.

Scuff them up, if you have any curb rash etc, sand down and even out and then spray paint with the wheel paint /clear coat. Painted mine last year in gun metal and it cost me $45 to do all 4 over the weekend.

Plastidip is surprisingly tuff, but from experience with the flat black - it will lose its luster within a few months and need to be redone. I cant speak for the newer colors with their clear coats - but honestly its coming out of a rattle can so i can imagine its the same thing. If you take your FX through car washes then that might be a no go though, some of them are a little ruff on the wheels and it is probable that it would peel away at the plastidip.

Plasti dip is legit stuff and u put enough coats it won't budge specially if u spray paint over I had to get my lock lugnuts torched and then hammered off cuz I lost the key and plastidipp didn't budge only bad part is if u ever want to powdercoat u gonna pay a decent amount cuz that stuff don't come off easy lol I did it to my grille now I am powdercoating the grille it was a bitch to take off and the labor is a lot so it was cheaper for me to get a $70 grille trust me lol when I plastidipped my rims and grille no one knew what plastidipp was. It is a good cheap way to make the rims look like just make shure u want them to stay like that after u spray paint plastidipp it ain't going anywhere if u got the money powder coat is the way plastidipp is easier to fix u get it scratch depends on how u drive and how much money u got I did plastidipp cuz I knew I was upgrading my rims eventually finallyhere plastidipp lasted me 3 years and the full u just spray gloss on it or clear coat shines em.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Like I said I was thinking of dipping in anthracite true metallic and adding a coat of glossifier for the nice finish. I did hear the glossifier loses its shine after a while and should probably be reapplied. Just worried and possible curb rash. Might dip them when it gets warmer.

I have the same stains on my wheels. I've tried several different types cleaners & agents, including a couple of the cleaners in the pic above with no real success. I've even tried using Mothers wheel cleaning compound with a power ball (on a drill motor).

I have found that high pressure washing (like the ones that clean you wheels in a automatic car wash) does clean it up quite a bit.....but these results are just temporary. I plan to gain access to a power washer and try to power wash them clean and see if that lasts.
