Hey guys, new member here but i've had my baby from the dealership for about 6 years. I've attempted a few times to upgrade the stereo but due to one issue or another the farthest i've gotten was adding two 2" kicker cvrs and amp running of the stock head unit. I really wanted to upgrade my speakers so I purchased a set of diamond audio components and tried to get then installed at one of the few audio shops I had access to where I was living and the guy could not do the install or some reason ( from what I remember it had something to do with running the wires through the door or something?) this was about 5 years ago granted so there wasn't many 09 fx35's around at the time. But after sometime I just need to get this upgrade done but I want to get it done with the help of you pros that actually know whats going on as I'm a pretty big newb technically and mechanically over all.
So here is what I have so far in terms of parts
1)1 set of Diamond Audio components
2) second set of CDT components from my old ride
3) JL cleansweep
I had an amp as well for my components but gave it to my sister to use in her car.
What else do you guys think i'll need to complete the upgrade? I really want to find a good aftermarket touchscreen unit to help upgrade the sound but mostly to get the bluetooth music streaming feature. I'm so sick of my aux cord and having to plug my phone in and out every time. Also, would using my spare CDT components and installing them in the rear doors be over kill? Cause that's what I was kind of thinking, and also I would have to remove all of my existing bose speakers too, correct?
Any inputs, suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated as I want to have everything figured out and priced out so I can shop around for a installation quotes for when I'm back in the vancouver area at the end of this month.
