I'm pretty much set on buying a set of Giovanna Kilis 22x9's in the Matte black for my diamond graphite fx.. Now my questions is regarding spacers and what size spacers should i go with.. I want it to come as close as being flush but without having to do any fender rolling... the wheels have a 38mm offset and my car isn't lowered yet. would a 25mm spacer be too much? or too little?:hmmmm2:

With 38mm offset: 25 mm spacer on OEM springs should not have any rubbbing and give you the best look in my opinion. If you lower it later on, it will rub for sure though.

thats what im kinda looking for but at the same time, i am planning on lowering it, not sure when but soon.. should i play it safe and get 20mm spacers or u think that may rub too when lowered?.. ps: i'm most likely going for the h&r springs, u think 1.3 f, 1.2 r drop is gonna be enough to cause them to rub?

i know i'm asking way too many questions but i figure there's alot of ppl on here with experience on this matter lol

I have 22x10.5" wheels in the back w/ a +25 offset and am lowered on H&R springs w/ the spring mount mod (slightly more drop). I've rubbed exactly one time with this set up and it is ~32mm more aggressive than a 22x9 +38. But I'm also running slightly smaller tires than some others would run on a 10.5" wheel - 285 vs. 305 so that is a big part of it.

FWIW, get the 25. Once you lower your car, the wheels won't be "flush" anymore anyways and a 25 mm spacer would leave a less tucked look than a 20. I've got coilovers on the way and am getting a 15mm spacer for the front 22x9 +40 wheel and maybe a 5mm for the rear since the camber will make it look more tucked. It looks like I have enough room for that and I haven't modified the fenders in any way.

I used to have 25 mm spacer with H&R running 22x10.5, +40 offset wheel on 285/50 tire and rolled fender. I rub on big dip on road. I recently replace the 25 mm spacer 20 mm with the same wheel and tire setup, but didn't have much riding time with the 20 mm spacer along with my 22s due to having to change into my winter setup. From the looks of it, it still going to rub though.

Coilovers is on the way. I'm hoping that it's stiffer springs, height adjustable and dampening for ride comfort will eliminates the rubbing for that lowered flush flush look :smile (2):

Ha, Andy -- exact same reason I'm getting coilovers. I didn't know you rubbed too.

H&R/Eibach is around 3KG front spring, so 10KG for you should be perfect.

He meant 285/40/22 tires, not 50.

Bottom line is, if you plan on doing 22"s coupled with spacers and plan a drop in the future, you will need to roll the fenders. The inner fender is really sharp and sticks out enough to do some serious tire damage over time. I am slammed and I occasionally get rubbing only on the fronts because I didn't roll them. Only the rears are rolled and the tires are right up to the fender well.

In the front I have 22X9 38 offset with 19mm adapter and 265/35/22 tires(1 inch shorter than stock) and coilovers. I haven't rolled the fronts at all and have never had any rubbing at all. On my back I have 22X10.5 40 offset with a 19mm adapter and 305/30/22 tires(again 1 inch shorter than stock) and rolled the fenders. It tucks almost up to the rim on dips because of the camber. I may have issues when I put on the camber kit though.
I wouldn't be afraid to roll the fender lip if I was you, I can't see it really depreciating the value of the car whatsoever and you can't tell it's rolled unless you are looking for it because the fender trim hides all the metal area.

inky, im not really afraid of it depreciating the value of the car its more or less the ease of doing it or having someone do it, don't really know how difficult it is to do or expensive to have done.. if need be then it need be.. also, i'm only planning on having 22x9 all the way around not 22x10.5 staggered rear n 22x9 front.. another thing is the tires.. 265/40 seems to have a slight lower OD than a 285/40 so it may fit better and have more room.. (i don't wanna go any lower on the profile cuz here in northern NJ the roads blow) even tho there's more availability options in the 265/35's series than 265/40's.. ps: i wholesale tires for a living so i know a thing or to about tires lol..

Aero: oh, i knoww what happens when tires clip the fenders, i had a slammed civic back in my early college days and experienced a thing or two on fender rubbing and awful camber wear... i'm just curious as to what offsets and spacers, on different wheel packages the community has, esp since alot of u have lowered ur fx's with prob the same springs im most likely going to use
btw: what kind of wheels u have, sizes? staggered? tire sizes? i'm really digging those and looking for that similar split spoke style

My point being that a 22X9 with 25 spacer is only 1cm difference from a 22X10.5 so it would be similar in comparison. I would do the 265/40 cause it's close to the stock OD but on the shorter side for clearance. I know what you mean about low pros, I have 30 profile on my back and Hawaii is ranked #1 for the worst roads in the nation. I've heard of people who rent fender rollers from craigslist for $40 on other forums before but I suppose that's all location specific. I took a hammer to mine which most people wouldn't recommend but it came out fine and with a coat of black paint it's protected. I think allot of rim shops offer fender rolling also
