Need help with buying an fx45

Hey guys...ive always been a bmw guy but being in college i dont think its a good idea to own one anymore...just too much maint. and ive found myself needing more of a suv type vehichle for some of my hobbies like pulling my trailer with my atv's and etc...so i narrowed it down to the fx. The fx is both beautiful and being an infiniti i figured it would be a lot better than my bmw. So i have my sights set on an 03-04 fx45 but a friend told me about the oil burning issues....now that concerns me. Is it something to worry about, if i buy used i dont think infniti will replace the engine, would they? Also what are some of the problems you guys have with your 03-04s and is the car reliable? And im only getting the fx45 to be able to pull a 3k trailer...would the fx35 be more reliable and a better choice? Any info would help thanks.

I only heard of a few members with the oil burning issue. My 05 45 has had no such issues and I change the oil every 4.5k miles with mobile 1.
 
Thanks guys for the prompt replies...is there any way i can tell if a car has oil burning issues before i buy one? Anything in particular i should look for?
