Hi guys

I'm looking for the ribbon cable that connects radio head unit to the control panel.

I was removing the front control panel and broke few links on the cable. :tears:

Dealer told me that this is the part of the main unit and to get it fix it will coast $250 or i can replace main unit for $1200. :ehh:

Any one with old unit in the garage?? All I need is the cable!!

Help please
 
problem with fixing it is that this is not like computer ribbon cable with actual wires inside.

It's more like those security strips in the dollar bills. It is impossible to expose them without damaging them.
 
ah, never say impossible, you can expose them by gently scrapping the coating off of one side & then soldering to them, tricky but very doable, I've done more delicate ribbons than that before.
 
soldering is not my thing. but I'm going to give it another shot.

I'm also willing to trade my overhead console for that cable.

That console will hold original screen, all you have to do is extend the cable to reach to the top.
