Still looking for a good price on the nismo S-tune exhaust and talking to vendors and see if they want to give us a discount as a group buy.. heck even if they give us free shipping is a great discount.. shipping the whole exhaust is like $150-200 dollars.

i'll keep trying.. i need to buy time so i will take my FX to a muffler shop and see if they can somehow fix my OEM one so i can have a legal Vehicle on the road.

any luck on your side Logan?

Everyone seems to be out of stock or is running low enough they can't go GB. The higher priced resellers (at $1,297) won't talk GB. Possibly a price of $1,200.00 is the going deal. I have one more source to try then I am going to call it and just buy. Waiting for a deal that may or may not not go down is like waiting for the right time to buy a stock......I think NISMO maps their pricing or keeps their margins pretty tight.

"The OEM Nismo exhaust was designed and made by HKS with larger tips, majority of car reports state it was created to give a deeper tuned sound, no specifications on HP gain. On the other hand the S-tune was designed by Fujitsubo, and made by Weldina for performance."

Just some information I found regarding the OEM Nismo exhaust that comes off a Nismo edition 350z vs the Nismo S-tune, which is purchased separately.

I said this before, but OEM Nismo exhaust is 2.5" while S-tune is 3.0".

Logan since you know more about the GB deal with the last vendor you spike to. Just go a head and share the information with us.. As I mentioned before I will see if my exhaust can get fixed so I can have more time to play with the GB.. Bit if it doesn't get fix I'll probably will go ahead and get it.

I purchased from Lee auto parts in Maine 1.866.765.7278, I found them on Ebay (actually Ed found them ). Speak to Chris the parts manager, he's a great guy and knows his product.

The vendor doesn't have anymore nismo exhausts Lance sent me a message saying that the seller can give us a $1,100 + shipping GB price if we can get 8 people..

They are in high demand (great product AND Japan is obviously still getting back on their feet with regards to production). If you are going to wait anyway I'd put your order in as a GB with a trusted vendor and let them order them in bulk - Just sayin'

Lance, front 10 sets of NISMO S-tune and setup shop in your kitchen. Hand deliver to each member (only 48 states).

I'm in, getting bored with my current job anyway.....

Join the board of my firm? I'll pay you $500,000/year, only if you show up to at least 1 of 2 meetings. No corporate jet though, only business class on United is included for travel expenses.

If you miss both meetings, you get on probation and get a golden parachute of 10 million in cash. No options. Post retirement healthcare is included.

hey bro, don't know how obvious this is so I'll just add this here to help those that may not realize what it is that I'm about to say.

the nismo does not bolt right into an fx, aside from the center being too short & needing either the g35 extensions or the Y pipe extended you will also need to cut the tailpipes & extend them out from the muffler as the FX bumper is larger with more overhang than the Z's & G's. this much I assume everyone knows...

where the problems start is when you wind up just going to a regular muffler shop to have this "install" done. regular muffler shop will probably be the cheapest way to go, BUT, there is an issue here that might not be realized by most. this issue is that the Nismo exhaust is made from 304 stainless steel. most exhaust shops are NOT going to be equipt to do these extensions the right way & if there done wrong the extensions will not last. the exhaust will actually start to fall apart at these improperly extended areas within a year or 2, especially if you live in a state that gets snow in the winter, but this will even affect those that live in nice year round climates too as the exhaust will always build up condensation from the inside too ... I think we have seen a few Nismo's here that were done improperly & the resulting problems from this. tail pipes actually falling off & stuff like that...

it don't make a lot of sense to buy a very expensive quality piece like this & then butcher it with an inadequate modification as the exhaust is only going to be as good as it's weakest link. if these extensions are done with standard mild steel piping as most exhaust shops will do then you are turning a high quality exhaust into something a bit more crappy. these extensions should be done with 304 ss AND they also need to be welded properly, with the correct stainless steel filler wire as it's welded. Ideally the best way for these welds to be performed is by being TIG welded with the proper SS filler, again, something most ordinary exhaust shops are not going to be able to provide.

my advice is to seek out either a high end exhaust shop who does have the capability of stainless steel fabrication if you can find one, or better yet, to source this install job from a performance shop instead, again someone who is equipt to deal with stainless steel properly... you should also realize that this will def add a few hundred to the equation here... when Aiya needed his done I did not have the capability to weld stainless myself so I turned him to a race car fabrication guy I use... he is very expensive & winded up charging us too much. partially because I requested that he replace the whole extension from the muffler with one mandrel bent elbow instead of cutting & extending, thereby leaving a few extra visible seems. he special ordered the madrel bends & the straight pipes needed in 304ss & charged us for this but in the end he winded up not doing it the way I asked because he wasn't comfortable cutting & welding it so close to the muffler canister & instead did just what I was looking to avoid, which was just cut the tailpipes & add a few inches extension. with the labor & materials which he winded up not even using the mandrel bends, it winded up costing us $450... def more than it should have been, but realistically the right price for something like this still would be in the $300-$350 range, assuming you are also extending the Y... don't think your going to get this whole thing done properly for cheap

spend a little more to have the stainless steel done correctly & the exhaust should last the life of your fx, or do it cheaply & wind up with the infamous self ejecting muffler tips :)

I mean after investing almost 1200+ on a exhaust the best next thing to do would be to do the right mods to it.. Yes you can be cheap on it but it's your money..
