today i made an invisicord out of spare phone wire and tried to plug it in but the connection was too loose and it kept falling off, twice. so I gave up and left the wire to the mirror unplugged.
Tonight after work, when i got in and started the car the gauges didn't move and the shifter got locked also, I used the manual override pin from the trunk to no avail so i ripped off the whole console and was finally able to move it and bring it back home.
the whole time i drove it, none of the gauges and a/c buttons worked.
now every time i put it into park, it locks and i have to press the spring to release it.
How do I fix this thing?
the Comp on the mirror doesn't show the direction but the homelink is working.
I have to go to work early tomorrow and if any one can tell me what to do, that is greatly appreciated.
this is when i was driving

What is the nature of your invisicord installation? Which systems might you have disturbed in the process? Did you already check all your fuses?

maybe you blown some fuses?
some, i think it's more than that...

when i plugged the wires by the mirror and powered the radar detector, it came on as usual, it's just that the connection was loose and so i took it off and haven't plugged it since.
i found the interlock switch right above the brake pedal, unplugged it checked everything, it looks ok,
gonna check the fuses now

Not sure what causes your gauges not working, but I can tell you how I made my own invisicord from a spare phone cord.
1) I crimp a pin that was intended to use in a computer DB9 pin male jack onto the each wire of the cut end of the spare phone cord, then I use heat shrink tube at each crimp joint and then use a bigger heat shrink tube over the two wire with the heat shrink tube to give it a nice finish look as well as keeping the joint tight.

2) I jam each pin into the first two pin of the electrical plug from the rear view mirror and then wire tie it. Sorry, I can't remember which is the positive and ground on the rear view mirror.

It works well and have not given any problem.

god damn 10 amp fuse....
i spend so much time in that heat only to take out all the fuses one by one
and find the blown one at the very end. this is ridiculous.
used the spare fuse and everything came back to life, the CEL light also,
after resetting the ECU, it went away, so i don't know what caused it.
the comp must have gone into stolen mode or something. thing's ok now but
in the due course, my console has acquired some scratches and now i am seriously
considering carbon fiber interior mode.
La FX, thanks for you suggestion, I already have an invisicord but it was too short from the point where i wanted to put the radar detector in the windshield and so decided to make myself one, but i have no idea what caused it to short circuit the fuse..

one more thing, while i was inspecting the fuses, out of all possible slots, one of them doesn't have a fuse on it, and i am not talking about the spare slot, this one is in the middle of other fuses, it this normal? i can't tell what that slot represents, it looked odd!!

I feel yer pain, man. This is why I have replaced my fuses with the "smart fuses" - they actually light up after they blow so it's totally obvious if you have one out.

I spent about 50 bucks to replace them all (three different fuse boxes in the FX) but now all I have to do is take off the cover and see if any of them are lit up.

And yes, there are a couple of empty fuse slots, you are most likely not missing anything.

might as well get them smart fuses, it was a horrible experience last night

Yep - one afternoon in my Texas summer detached garage and I was ready to swear off electrical work forever. That day I went to replace the blown fuse and discovered the smart fuses at the auto store. I bought one package - just to replace the one I blew. The very first time I blew a smart fuse, I didn't even know I had, till I saw that light. Catching it BEFORE troubleshooting felt so good. That day I decided to change them ALL out to smart fuses. After buying them all, it took about an hour to actually swap them all out.

IMO, these should be OEM fuses. You shouldn't have to cross check a manual to identify fuse locations.
