Necessary to Disconnect Battery Removing Headliner?

I'm taking out the headliner in my G and was wondering if it's necessary to disconnect the battery taking out the headliner? I ask because I'm worried about the curtain airbags. On another note I will be driving for a few days with no headliner inside anyways so will it really matter?

I really hate disconnecting the battery because I lose all my memory and it deleted my oil change interval thing.
 
I didn't disconnect mine. Was driving without the headliner for several days, everything was OK.
