could the navi be upgraded at the dealership. i want to know this because at times i enter a store or restaurant and it doesn't register. do u guys know why? does it have to be updated by them or is this just that the places may not be registered?

They prob arent registered yet/every year infiniti comes out with a new disc that has updated maps and poi's not cheap though. The newest discs are around $200

He has an 09 so it is hard drive based. You need to take the car to the dealer and see if they will update and have an update. I am due for service this week and will be checking myself.

I have a 2010 fx35 and have the latest Navteq maps. They are the worst in updating. Your Portable GPS do a better jobs. Better yet google maps with turn by turn.

most map data is at least a few years behind when there actually released, so a 2010 disc probably has info that's began being compiled in 07 or so...

When I bought my 09 FX35 I insisted on getting the latest version of nav. I had to pay $200 for it. It was done at the dealer. The dealer had to connect to Infiniti via the internet and download the upgrade. Even with the latest version my Nuvi still have a lot of POIs and create better routings.

I have a 2010 FX35. The last 3 times I tried to find a restaurant, they don't show up in the searches. And those restaurants have been opened for like at least 10 years too, because I know exactly where they are, just wanted to get the directions.

So far I've been pretty disappointed at the 2010 NAV with its POI database.

Yeah... it's always been bad on all 3 of my Fx's.

I like the look of 10's better than the 09's but doesn't look like that is available to upgrade too...
