Navigation - Love it/Hate it?

so my 05' has the nav option.. prior to this I used a handy lil' one called TomTom. Loved it, the unit inthe FX just seems too difficult, and not user friendly, i.e. having to stop/pull over to edit/change destinations, I know this is a safety feature but can't Infiniti design a sensor to sense the passenger in the seat so they can perhaps program the unit? just not loving the Navigation.. anyone out there have any thoughts/positive spin on this "option?"

Look at Alan's(themerchant) post!. We have some pictures on IS. I need to do the write up so it can be a DIY.
 
My nav tells me where I am, that's about all I really need from it 95% of the time. I can only think of one time I actually had to pull off the interstate to input directions for something.

interesting, I use it just the opposite as a navigation system, telling me how to get to a destination with directions etc. I don't need it to tell me where i am at the moment..that's usually obvious, would need to use it to get to xyz address out of state.. not sure I want to get into cutting wires on my rig yet for the mod.. scares me a bit... might go back to using my TomTom I know this sounds like a whiney reply, it's not intened to... thank you for your input:tonguey:

It's mostly useful for me to see when turns or exits are coming up on the map. Also, downtowns that have one way streets.

I have my FX at my electronics guy place, he's attempting to find the module in the picture for the moving navigation modification... where is the molex/multipin connector located in the FX??? thanks!!
