Nav VS No Nav

The Canadian car has Satellite Radio, Back-up camera, Bluetooth, Heated and Cooled Seats all standard. However, I am truly jealous of 450 per month. My car, with zero down is 800$ per month and I got mine 2 years ago. NOW, the car is over 1,000.

Nice so it seems as if im losing some extra stitching on the seats, no big deal. Loss of cool seats, no big deal. Loss of DVD playback, no big deal yet im sure the nav screen package has DVD playback while not in motion.. Thanks guys Lastly are the side view mirrors heated and does it really not have telescoping steering wheel? Is it at least power buttons to go up down in out?

Yeah I go through leasing companies to get my cars in brooklyn ny. To lease or buy from the dealer is a ripoff so that's why i'm asking so many questions. I test drove one with premium package last august but forgot alot of the features. Also they only had fx on the lot with premium packages so I could not compare in person.

IMHO, I say get the nav. It's a good option to have and you wont believe the number of people who regret not getting nav systems only after they leave the lot. Seems like a lot of $ now but trust me, its worth it. The OEM navs aren't that great but they do come in handy lots of times even when you're not thinking about it. For just standard driving, its just good to have that view and see what alt routes are there and maybe other lil interesting info on the screen. Most portable navs arent constantly unless you need a destination or something.

If you dont mind, let me offer a quick ex: I was traveling to an event in PA and was very unfamiliar with the area. I had my destination mapped and within 10 miles, we ran into very heavy, one lane road traffic. While not moving almost at all and running out of time, I was able to use the map feature and follow other routes and see where they would reconnect to the main road by just sliding the map around. I was able to skip all the traffic and found back roads to get me where I wanted to go. I'm sure I could've done this with a portable too but the convenience was much better. Lastly, and still really personal opinion, I just can't stand to see portable GPS units sticking out the windshield of luxury cars. Makes the car feels cheap. Just my two cents...

After owning an FX for nearly 2.5 years i can honestly say the Navi was a bad investment. I used to drive A Lexus IS350 and never got lost. I have to pay attention to street signs alot more w/ the FX. If you are ever in Queens NY the Navi is 70% accurate. Atlantic City NJ is 3 blocks off. Save your duckets and keep your sanity. It took me a total of 2 weeks w/ the FX coming from the EX to realize this Navi is not at all worth it. Sure it works most of the time, but IMO it's still not worth it. Then again i've never flashed my navi to the newest firmware. The only thing worth it was the 360 camera and impact sensors.

Did you buy your FX new? If so, when?

My FX is a 2009 and even so, my map updates are from mid 2008....

all you need to do is for $150, you can have an update that will be 99.9% accurate. I love my navigation and think it was well worth the investment.

My FX was brand new back when i bought it March 2009. I also had an EX 35 and a Lexus IS 350 at the time and honestly both those cars put the FX to shame when it comes to Navi accuracy. Can anyone confirm the Navi update actually fixes the accuracy?

What issues are you having? Is it that the map information that is old and not to your satisfaction, or do you just not like how it directs you and if so, what do you not like?

1) It would lead me to 1 way streets in many locations
2) Does not have an accurate way to put street addresses after typing in an address it "lists" irrelevant out of zone cities.
4) There's no way to manually type an address or city after it assumes it knows where you want to go.
3) Cannot find common street names on known NYC streets. Numeric addresses are non existent so anywhere in the NY area is a crap shoot.
4) It's almost always off on address approximation leading me to onramps to other businesses where i'd have to make a u turn to hit my destination after missing or or undershooting the address.

The only time i use the Navi nowadays is to get to the greater area of my destination followed by google on my iphone or intuitively finding a place. Don't get me wrong i love my FX. I just hate the Navi.

I own a '09 FX without nav but w/ premium and touring packages. Here in PR nav option was not available. The only I wish to have from nav Pkg. was the Bluetooth streaming. I solved this last with the Sprint FiPo bluetooth adapter attached to IPod cable.

the cheaper and easy to use garmins are better for a variety of reasons, but if you like having the oem nav than theres only one option
