My new FX paint job

try not to take picture in direct sunlight. Try taking some say in an underground parkade?

Its too light and flat from the picture but that could be because of the lighting.

not really feeling the chrome parts either, but I agree with ^^^ this FX is one of a kind

I can't go by the pictures and I think that if that is the route your are going you will have to lose the bling and go with some black wheels as well as brushed aluminum. but You have a start...

agree with the primer look. from what i understand getting that "matte" black look with paint is hard. most end up coming out either too shiny or too dull. i think the vinyl wrap is the best way to go for the matte black look.

Interesting, I had considered a vinyl wrap on my ride, nice thing about vinyl is that the finish is consistent. There is a slight sheen to the vinyl that I like.

Well, i agree with you, i was going to cover it with the mat foil but it was so expensive almost double the price of the paint. so, i just wanted to see how it will look with the mat color as i already reserved a brand new FX50s and im waiting to get it after 2 months.

I think the value dropped when you painted it. So, it would of been better to wrap it. Since you can afford a 50, please wrap it. Cause if you get sick of it in a few months, you can remove the wrap and rock the original paint.

besides having all the chrome acessories with a "matte" black car..which looks strange.....that is not "matte" like you would want it to be. Matte is another name for flat, no sheen. Satin has some sheen to it, slightly reflective. "matte" looks chalky and like primer, like your FX does. the look you are looking for is really a type of satin black... it is basically the same but it seems a little less chalky and actually looks good in my opinion. Yours just looks like you have the primer down before a paint job. An example of a satin black/ "matte" looks is something like this:

(see the first post)

note how it is not chalky but still has that matte look to it.
I would go back to your painter and re-do it to the satin black. Then while you are there paint all of your chrome trim peices black. then it'll look sick!
