My Matte Black FX

The mod bug took over and I wanted to do something extreme. These are just some quick pictures I took so that I can have something to look at while I'm working and until I get the chance to do a sexier shoot. Surpringly, it looks better at night because the contrast shows more. My wife hates it and thinks it looks like a chalkboard on wheels. I kind of like the contrast between the flat color and the glossy bits, but am not fully sold yet. I don't know what the maintenance will be like yet nor what most people will think, but for now it's definitely turning heads.
 
I've seen this attempted a couple times and I'm glad to say all your black trim is a good thing with the body color. I don't like the chrome accents contrasting on the flat black.

In fact, the wheels seem a little out of place since everything else is gloss black.

Good for you for trying it out though.
 
It looks extremely flat, like rattle can flat. Would be nice if it had a slight sheen. Did you paint all the accent trim pieces flat to match?
 
I see it's just a wrap. I'm kinda fond of matte black paint. Only thing is that it looks much better when it's got clear coat over. Sorta finishes it off.

Theres a black matte finished Viper compt coupe that a friend has. Obviously not a street car, but it simply looks badass mean!
 
It just looks so gray. I feel like the last one that attempted the flat black look was kinda gray also. I bet it does look better at night though. Maybe the FX just can't pull off the flat look?
 
But this black wrap looks different ///4321 it has a satin sheen to it and IMO looks pretty tight. STU Was the last one you are referring to in the middle East? It also had that FLAT charcoal finish. Not necessarily my style but it has a kinda Mad Max style all its own.....are there different sheen levels of black vinyl wraps available? FLAT/MATTE/SATIN/SEMIGLOSS/GLOSS?

Yeah, that one looks good. It's also professionally photographed though. I believe the other one was in the middle east, that's the one I'm talking about.

True-They are pro shots but even the sheet metal surfaces seem to have reflective qualities. There is no sheen to speak of in the surfaces of either car, don't know if you could dial that back up in PS. Are people asking for flat and really looking for satin? Do you have any night shots of your car Ramsta?
