My Labor Day Weekend Project: H&R 20mm spacers and springs *pics*

The project took me all of Labor Day. I was working at a leisurely pace, and I don't own any air tools.

Casualties: 1 broken Craftsman torque wrench (shouldn't have used it as a breaker bar), and 1 stripped 19mm nut.

Impressions: I like the feel of the springs. There's no jarring, seems slightly softer than the stock sport springs but more planted in the corners. I really need to get a STB and rear lateral / rear tie bar....waiting for GTspec.

I'm happy with the drop and the car looks much more aggressive. I'm happy that I didn't go with the 25mm spacers. I have 43K on the car and decided to stick with the original shocks for the time being.

Why were you glad that you did not get the 25mm spacers? I just did the H&R drop and 25mm spacers mid july and I am absolutely happy with the results. Even though the difference between 20 and 25 is minuscule, I think 20 would've been a little too small.

I feel that aesthetically, the 20mm puts the wheels out to a perfect position. I'd rather have the wheel in from the fender a few mm's as opposed to dead flush or even out a few.

Glad to help! This forum is full of so much info, relative to the other forum I'm on (infinitifx.org). It took me 4 years of ownership before I found IS. Is it coincidental that I caught a mod bug after 4 years of ownership?:tongue (2):
