Ok the story goes like this..

Me and the wify been talkin bout getting an SUV.. we have been back and forth from what I wanted was between the BMW X6 and Porsche Cayenne S to her Rang Rover.. so Finally we came to an agreement to pick up an FX35.. That way she happy with her SUV and I can go an pic out my other car(Eruo) at a later time. So we compromise and decide to go with carmax because of what we found for a good price plus it was easy accesses from where she works since I'm overseas and can't be around to help her out.

Bellow is the one we was going to get. It was to be shopped from Kentucky which took approx 18days to ship. Now 1st off the car is ok, I wasn't really feeling the inerter color or the outside color but heck it was coming fully loaded with navi, backup cam and everything for a good price as advertised.

notice the screen for the navi..

Well she goes to look at the SUV today since the truck is now at the MD store and when she goes for the test drive they tell her there is no Navi, back up cam or even a Bose sound system in the truck. We are like WTF that was what was stated on your Ad??? Well its not on it we made a mistake.. bla bla bla.. Ok but we do have this FX50 that just came in and it has Navi, Backup cam, and it’s a sports package but its gonna be like 7k more. So This one looks to me as a better bargain for the price and much more power then the FX35. We decided ok we will take it.. So now we gonna have to wait another 3weeks as this one has to ship from Texas.

If this one isn't what it seems to be like the last one.. I'm gonna say Forget the FX an move on to another platform.

fx50 wow NICE. hope it goes smoothly and that you enjoy it!

prefer the black interior on the 50 anyways. good luck!

Looks like their lying to you again cause that FX50 you posted pictures of is missing the sport package. If it had the sport package, it would have the red S emblem on the rear near the FX50 emblem. Plus it would have the sport seats and dark tinted headlights with rear active steering, which the one you posted doesn't.

Just deal with a REAL dealership.

The only packages I see it has is the navigation package with the around view camera's and the premium package.

well as long as it just has the Navi, backup Cam and Bose system. I think she will be happy with it. i coulnd't tell the diffrence from the S or a non S.

Ahhhhh that FX50 is from Houston. 41998 plus whatever the transfer fee is to your local store is still pretty good. I would have someone accompany your wife when it comes in, someone knowledgeable about cars.

My Carmax experiences:
Carmax has brought in cars for my family before that had repaired body damage on it, evident by misaligned panels/gaps, clear coat runs, paint runs etc. Their buyers sometimes have no idea what they are doing, I had to point out to their buyer and manager things wrong with the cars they transferred. Also had one E46 330i spew its guts after less than 2 weeks of ownership (BMW repaired the car under warranty, stating that in 40K miles the oil had never once been changed nor anything done through free maintneance through them), I went in Carmax and started talking to the manager, when he said basically tough luck I raised my voice in the showroom "So let's get this straight, Carmax doesn't care about the longevity of their vehicles after a customer purchases it from them, my moms BMW just blew its motor within 2 weeks of purchase...", I was asked to quiet it down, I started cursing out loud (using bullshit and assinine) and was ushered into an office where upon a handshake the car was agreed to be returned for a full refund after BMW was done with it if I was still unsatisfied. The car went back within 3 weeks and I found her a 530i at one of our local BMW dealerships.

i've had 2 bad experiences with carmax and haven't been there since. sorry to hear about your troubles man. FX50 won't disappoint you. GL on your deal.

I bought my G35 from Carmax.. I haven't really had no issues with the car besides the window motor going out. and lill maintenance stuff that I took care of. I know alot of these cars come from the auction or trade-ins.. I would I had someone in Houston go look at this before I get it shipped ova here. Im not payin any transfer fee because of the last SUV I had transfer never had navi.

Screw the backup camera :P. Wait till she sees the around view monitor camera's it has instead! After a while she will be wondering how in earth did she survive without it. I can't live without mine.

Yeah it's hit or miss with any used car. They had a 30 day warranty on what they sell, but at first they didn't want to take it back for a full refund and then wanted us to pick another car from their inventory (they didn't have another one with the options this car had at that time).
We've bought 12-15 cars through them since 00. She just got rid of her E92, drove my E85 for a little while until I sold it and then bought a CPO'd E90 from Carmax. So although there is still a little stigma there, we still go back because in the end sometimes there are real deals to be found there.

There has been alot of issues with the e90 BMWs the 335i were the ones with the most issues.. I myself come from a background in BMWs. I have owned a E36 M3T which I just sold not to long ago and my mom has an E46. Don't get me wrong BMW are great cars hands down. But like anything mechanical. Things do tend to break.

Right now I'm lookin at the M5 or M6, but looking to go maybe with a 911.. still looking around for the best option.

I'd sell (or attempt to) any car there, but I don't know about buying. Hope your experience w/ the '50 turns out well.

I bought my '03 Nissan Frontier new in '03 for $13K. Bare bone model, 2wd, 5 speed manual, manual windows, locks, etc. I decided to sell in '05, 2 years and 30K miles later. Several pvt buyers off CL looked and passed, so I thought Id see what carmax would offer. KBB was around 8-9K. They examine my car and the guy says, "ok, we'd like to offer you $12.5K". My mouth kinda dropped, but I kept in check and said, "ok, where do I sign?". 20 minutes later, I was out of there with my check. I assume that someone messed up with the model/trim, maybe assuming it was 4wd, power windows/locks/etc. My sales guy from infiniti picked me up from carmax, drove me to the dealer and and an hour later I was in my FX.

Sport package adds the following:

 • Continuous Damping Control (CDC®) with Auto and Sport modes (Adaptive Suspension)
 • Rear Active steering (Turns rear wheels by one degree to aid in turn in and improve handling & cornering)
 • Red "S" sport emblem on rear trunk
 • Sport style front seats with thigh support
 • Driver’s seat with power bolster adjustment (4-way)
 • Dark-tinted side air vents and lower door trim
 • Dark tinted headlights

That's why she went with an E90 330i. I too have an extensive Bimmer background (my BMW CCA clingy is on my FX hahahaha), I have had E28, E30, 2 E46s, E36/8, and an E85. She's had 3 E46s, E39, E85, E92, and now the E90. She saids she is keeping the E90 for the long haul. My next ride is going to be a 135i or 335i, the issues can be easily cured and with minor mods they make excellent power.

If you are thinking E60 M5, wait the prices are falling and will slide nicely when the F10 M5 is released:tup: If you are thinking E39 M5 then you are a braver man than I, those things suck cash like a fat kid at sams club with free food samples:laugh:

Prices for the E60 are about right which is why im looking now.. they are at a half of what they wanted back when it 1st came out. But i know BMW plans to do a V8TT on the new Ms like that have on the X6M and X5M.. will not suck as much fuel as the V10s. I was told by a dude that the E30 M3 are becoming a good investment. They are considered classics and are becoming rare as in hard to find.

Update on FX50..
just got off the phone with JBL Infiniti, they gonna make me a deal on this sweet FX50S
