My Day at Technosquare

anyone want to call them to setup another "Dyno Day" ? I would rather pay $500 then $750 :err:

From what I was told some time ago is that there is not much interest from the FX crowd so no day scheduled dedicated to the FX.

I've been wanting to get a tune for years, just keep putting it on the back burner. $500 is a deal but I question myself at $750.

Just for reference the two dyno shops with UPREV licenses in the Seattle area run specials for five cars at a time....

Yeah, I think over the summer some Z guys were talking about driving down to UpRev and trying to get a lowered price. That seems to be the way to go if possible.

Spoke to Rich at UPREV today, they are driving sales through their vendors and ramping up for more licensing agreements, sounds like a good opportunity for anyone looking to step up for a tune. He also said that they have a 45 in the shop that has FI issues, when it runs well he said it puts out a smooth 450 WHP with minimal boost. Anybody have their ride at UPREV right now?

I wonder if this is an option for me since the +2 bump failed. If TS is able to work with my 08 45 then that's a plus.

Aiya - in retrospect I think it's better you didn't get the +2. Getting a tune wipes out the +2 anyway, since timing is adjusted over the entire spectrum with a tune. Having learned a bit more now about exactly what timing is and how it benefits the engine, the +2 mod is beneficial only at some RPMs and AFRs. At other RPMs/AFRs it actually causes a lean/rich condition - which does the opposite of why we tune in the first place.

Getting a "canned" ECU tune is better than a universal timing adjustment and even better than that is a dyno tune which adjusts timing and AFR to be optimal across the engine performance band.

Makes sense. I think that my 45 runs a little rich already. A canned TS tune will have to do...when I gather enough scratch for it.

Didn't know any 45's had FI yet. And I sure don't know of any in Texas/Austin.

Damn Stu, this was making me itch so I called UPREV back. There were no names exchanged but Altered atmosphere did a custom kit on this car a long time ago. Its an 03, has 25K on the OD and it runs, badly.......most of the time. First owner got so fed up he sold it, second owner thought "hey it runs once in awhile maybe its a fixer"....so there it sits. On the bright side UPREV says they can build ANYTHING :) and if I like they can set me up with a FI 45 for cash money.

I with you on the 5 bills not 750.

I wonder if they would consider us if we can get 10 people with deposits.

Im wondering if 10 people are even needed for tunes. Maybe 5 would do....not sure. Im not sure how many tunes they can get in on 1 day. They will also do installs of other mods not just tunes.
