My "Bubbly" Dash Replacement Experience

After reading so many bubbling 1st Gen dash reports, it is finally my turn. I spotted a small row (maybe total 5) of tiny bubbles lying right on top of my center dash due to exposing my FX more under the sun this summer. I called Field Infiniti of Lake County (the one in Libertyville, IL), and they scheduled an appointment with me right away.
After dropping my car, I got a G25X loaner. At the very beginning, I thought it was a G37 and someone must have screwed up the engine so it was so lethargic...even weaker than my FX35:tongue:. But having a loaner ready right away, got nothing to complain about.
The whole replacement process took 2 1/2 days. The dealer did a great job and the service was good. Thumbs up to the Field Infiniti of Lake County at Libertyville. The replacement dash is a harder and lighter color material (resembles to the G25X loaner's dash). I kind of like the feel and darker color of the old dash, it looks more high end and less plastic, but hell, it's all plastic and who would like his car having those "bubbly" dash...it's embarrassing when giving rides to your friends and get jibed on your great "Infiniti choice".
Overall the experience was good and I would encourage anyone who start seeing any bubbles on your dash to get it replaced.

It took 2 days for mine, they had to actually get a new dash. Overall, decent experience, G37 sedan loaner. But the techs forgot to plug back some of the wiring for my video switcher so I had to go back in and do that. Then there are a few new squeaks in my dash since they took it apart. The replacement dash does look cheaper, but at least it doesn't have bubbles.
