I can't explain it in mechanical termss too well so i will give the symptoms and hopefully you guys
can help.... thank you in advance....
1- I bought the car 3 month ago and ever since on rainy days when ever i brake really softly or
release the brake so slightly that the car move at around 1mph or so it made a nasty creaking noise
at the front brakes... but all worked well my brakes looked fine the rotors looked ok so i ignored it
being that it's an 05 with 50k miles and is a used car....
2- today everyting was fine driving to work on the way back i felt the brake being alittle more loose?
I am not sure how to describe it but it feels something is not braking right... it does brake but when i am
going really slow and i want to come to a sudden hault it smoothly glides to a stop... as if there is some
air in my brake....
3- so i tested some stuff like putting the Ebrake on and then putting my gear at D... usually the car is not supposed to
move right? but it still move very slow...... now and i can kinda hear the front break creaking ( it's not the squeekie noise)
it;s like rusty creeky noise if there is such a thing....
I did check my brake fluid level and it seem to be at the right max level... what can be wrong and What can i look for tomorrow
morning to see or diagnose the problem? thank you so much..

what brake fluid does our car use? DOt 3?

It sounds like something is wrong for sure and brakes are nothing to mess with if you aren't experienced and/or qualified. It could be something as simple as glazed pads or it could be something more serious. Take it to a shop to have it diagnosed asap.

[ST]We use DOT-5, fyi.[/ST]

EDIT: The Infiniti FSM specifies DOT-3 brake fluid.

ok thank you I was reading some other non fx forum and leaning towards the caliper piston seizing....
damn it sucks........

could be the master cyclinder too, but too be sure take it for an inspection, also it might be that one of your inner pads is eating the inner rotor, no compound left on the pads metal to metal..

A diagnosis shouldn't be too painful, even from an Infiniti dealership. I'd think around $100 at the most. You could probably save a few bucks by going to a Nissan dealer as well... It's a fairly important system though (the brakes), so it's probably worth finding out what exactly is wrong with yours.
