My attempt at blacking out my grill...

Does anyone know if anybody has tried vinyl wrapping emblems? the concern at least to me would be when you use the heat gun, having the glue from the emblem come off, so I wasn't sure.
 
The pictures don't give it justice... I actually like the texture on the outside... As far as the shifter bezel I think it looks decent, kinda has a leatherish type texture in person... I plan on cf di-noc the rest of the silver interior trim and then I think it might look better...as far as the outside the front grille has held up remarkably. I drove about 500 miles and not one blemish ding scratch... Washed the car twice at a brush type wash. I read on another forum some guy did his wheels and they held up a whole year and then just re did them afterwards... Cost 25 bux in plasti-dip to do all the wheels... Not a bad little product for just messin around and without making anything permanent.

Gotta redo it... I have developed a technique to get it more smooth and less of a texture... Going to make a video soon!

and how "non-permanent" is plasti-dip really? has anyone tried peeling this stuff off after a year/extended period?
 
Hey guys...i'm looking to buy mesh grille for my FX35 '06 and having trouble to find one. I see there is plenty of them for 03-05 model...which in my opinion looks exactly the same. Any ideas...would it fit?
 
You guys sure? I thought it could fit with some trimming or cutting of the brackets. I saw a pic of an '06+ FX with the 03-05 blacked out eBay grille. I think Soonster spotted it. I was surprised.
 
Pretty sure. You can make it work, but you need to work on the grille to move the tabs. It can be done, not just simply swapped.
