motul or mobil 1 motor oil??

anyone use motul engine oil??? whats bettter mobil1 or motul??? from what i read motul is ester-based synthetic oils which nissan recommends?
 
I use Mobil 1 because it is more readily available and also at most Nissan/Infiniti Dealers that I have been to stock and use MObil 1 as their synthetic oil when you request synthetic.
If I was to use a different synthetic it would be Amsoil, but it is not readily available everywhere.
 
I like to think that Motul knows their stuff when it comes to lubricants.

Mobil 1 isn't actually a true synthetic anymore. I think only the Castrol Euro formula is, last I heard. Not that that's ever stopped me from using M1.

theres a performance shop near by that sells motul so was wondering if its better then mobil1. if it is imma return my mobil1 i bought on sale :P. the reason i ask is cause doesnt nissan reocmmend ester-based synthetic oils?

The problem is: you can't get Motul everywhere.
For example this past summer I drove the FX across Canada. I drove 16,000 kms on this trip. I stopped in Lethbridge Alberta for an oil change at a Nissan Dealer, they carried Mobil 1. then I also got my oil changed at a Nissan Dealer in Michigan, they also carried Mobil 1. Most places I go Mobil 1 is the synthetic oil that these places carry.
 
I'm not sure if it's better or not but I've used Motul for 5 years with no issues. A high school friend is my mechanic and I trust his opinion.
