Motordyne Exhaust????

Tony thinks we might have to extend the tip out a bit. Hope we can use the stock mounting points and it clears your braces as well.
GL with your installation !!! can't wait to see how this unfolds :smile (2):

Did Tony mention me by any chance? You're AWD so it's different. I'll have a nice update in a couple weeks.

Hello Stu,
It has been about couple of weeks and wanted to check and see the status of your exhaust installation were you able to get it to fit on your FX? Hope you were able to get it to fit with minimal trouble. Keep us updated ;)
Thanks

It just shipped Friday. Very frustrating, but I will get it on this week, retune is Monday.

Only good thing is I'm free all this week so I can put it on soon as it gets here. I will update with fitment, how well it mounts, and also any issues with gtspec braces.

Wanted to update a couple things. Because this exhaust uses v-band clamps and not traditional bolts, there's not exact way it fits. Because of this you have some room to move the pipes around into place. I think because of this I didn't get it lined up perfectly. I'm taking it to an exhaust shop because I know the tips need extending. I actually had part of the rear bumper plastic burn onto the tip while driving.

As far as fitment, it seems to fit pretty well. It cleared the sway bar and the smaller rear GT spec brace. It did not clear the one that hangs under the exhaust, but it was close, and I think my brace had been bent so normally it might fit. The one big issue I'm having is with the midpipe extension pieces resting on the w-brace. I'm not sure if the exhaust components can be rotated to push them up more. I will be taking it to an exhaust shop here for the tips, and have them see if they can't move it around to fit better. It also looked like the passenger side midpipe was very close to the forward diff mount. My HFC (custom add on) on the midpipe also hit the heat shield so I removed that.

The sound is awesome, except that it resonates really badly at 2k RPM, I assume because it's touching the w-brace. It's nearly silent while cruising, in fact I keep switching between hearing exhaust, road noise, and wind noise while driving on the highway. Driving under overpasses is way too much fun. This thing gets LOUD when you're in the upper RPM's. It seems to me like there is some rasp, but it's not normal, and almost like a "tuned" rasp. It takes all the harshness out and actually sounds good. If that makes sense. I'll have to get some videos up soon that will hopefully illustrate better.

When you say "the one that hangs under the exhaust", do you mean the mid chassis brace?

I had some rubbing and random vibrations with my system at first. Are you using all the oem hanger locations? Its also pretty easy to add locations if needed. For instance, the oem system has a single mid pipe, so there's only one hanger bracket for it and its on the driver's side. Since you have two mids, you may want to add a bracket on the pass side.

It seems to all sit fine without extra hangers to be honest. I was worried about that also. All OEM hangers, which might need to be switched out in the rear to let the rear cans hang lower.

I'm talking about the rear one that hangs way low. I think rear lateral is the name. I always think it's the lower tie, because it's the lower of the two.
