Morimoto hid kit

With out the desire for a little bit of wear and tear, this site wouldn't exist! :good:

True, but if premature wear were a real concern for the majority of the active members here, nobody would be lowering their ride, nobody would be running 22+" wheels, and nobody would be tuning.

Premature wear with all of these mods? Crap. What the hell have I done!?! Noooooooo!

I think this is one of those 'I heard from someone who heard from someone' stories that has little basis in reality. I'm still trying to find an actual FX owner that damaged their vehicle . So far I've found nothing on it aside from anecdotal mentions.

Anyone out there have firsthand experience with 55w fogs causing problems, or actually know someone who has?

I'm interested in knowing what went wrong - if anything.

I have the 55w hid kit from retrofit and I run them all the time as I have the always on mod. I haven't had any issues what so ever, they are in my opinion the best kit on the market. I did install the hd relay as they provide more power to the ballast to fire the bulbs, I had older ballast that would NOT fire the new morimoto bulbs. To answer your concern think of it like this! Our headlights are made of the same material as the foglights the only difference being that our projectors in the headlight magnify the light therefore creating more heat! Kinda like using a magnifying glass to catch fire using the sun! If we can bake our headlight to do mods, have hid bulbs in them that are magnified through projectors without melting anything. I seriously doubt there is any was your gonna melt anything on your foglights. I think you are waaaaay over thinking this, get the kit install and enjoy!

Glad we can finally dispel this rumor. I've never had a problem with mine.

I'm running 6x100w HID floods on my jeep and I've they still run great. Had them for two years!
