Morimoto 6000k HID D2S Question

It's a light bulb, if you buy the correct one, it will work. TRS likes to cover themselves by saying that the ballasts are finicky and the only way to avoid that is to buy a Phillips or whatever for a lot more money. Maybe it's the ballast, maybe it's the bulb. A Morimoto bulb is made in China just like all the eBay bulbs, they just charge more because they do a little more quality control, but obviously not as much as Phillips. If you're worried about a bulb burning out, then buy one from DDM or anyone who offers a lifetime warranty no questions.

FWIW, I run 6k bulbs I got from eBay, can't even remember the brand. 2 years no issues and the 6k isn't too blue.

I'ts a light bulb, don't overthink it. If you're actually worried about whether or not a bulb may or may not blow out and it's causing you this much hesitation, just don't mod your car. A light bulb is literally the smallest mod you can do.

Well said shadow, stop worrying and IMO get the morimotos or garax on eBay, you wont have problems man, your overthinking to much, it's just a bulb.

Any updates from the Original poster?

I'm due for new bulbs, too (still stock as far as I know from 2005). What's the best place to get the xb35's?

As long as were on a lights thread. Has anyone replaced their foglights? Whats the proper one to match the tint of the headlights? 6000k?

Stock headlights are 4300k

Did you ever find out which bulbs are best to match aftermarket 6000k headlight bulbs? I want to change mine as well.

I bought the Morimoto xb35 HID's in 6000k. They look amazing, and i bought LED DTRL to match, it looks really nice.10813462_10205667658437779_1348899328_o_zps2c517004.jpg

I have a question about these lights. I bought the philips 6000k d2s for my qx70
installed them & the drivers side kept flickering, swaped them still flickering same side,
put the originals back in and they worked fine so i returned the philips ones, do you think
the morimotos or garax 6000k woudnt do this?

They shouldn't do that. Looks like your factory ballast didn't "like" the Philips bulb for some reason.

Yeah its pretty weird because the ones the car came with were philips aswell
Dont know if it had anything to do with the adaptive lightning or some kind
of resistance on the bulbs perhaps..now im debating on what kind to try out

Hmmm that's weird, maybe the new 2014 QX70's have a different type of ballast now. I have the garax 6000k and never had that problem. I say try those or the morimotos.

Zebra said is perfectly, the OEM Matsushita ballast didn't "like" the Phillips bulb but not all bulbs will be that way.

So i returned the philips 6000k. Got a refund. Now i got the morimoto xb35's and they did the
same thing!! Now it would take more times of me turning the headlights on and off to make the
left one stay on! so i returned them aswell, My moneys on the left ballast.... But the dealer wont replace it unless its
bad but it works fine with the stock ones. can i buy high performance ballasts with the same
mounting point as the oem ones?

Did you ever find a solution? I just bought a pair of Morimotos and my passenger side bulb powers up then immediately cuts out upon turning my headlights on...no flicker, just cuts off

Not yet bro. Ive been just postponing it. One of these days im gona remove the ballasts & igniters from both sides and swap sides and buy another set of philips 6000k and verify if its the ballasts for sure. Because i really need them! My led 6000k fogs dont match with my stock hids at all.
