modified struts & suspension

I just finished browsing through this theme (maybe it was answered somewhere and I missed it by accident)
I just had a simpeler idea that in my mind works for me but since you have more experience on that area you can prove me wrong.
My rear wheels are sitting also a bit tilted after the lowering - why not just extend the upper arm (cut it half and weld an extra piece in between to extend it)?
In my mind it should work fine and push the upper edge of the wheel out?
Can it be corrected this way?

Could work. Best would be to weld some sort of threading between it so you could adjust it still. Hard to say how much you need when wanting to fix weld something between it. I saw a arm of an mitsubishi Lancer EVO a while ago and noticed it has the same basic idea wicg we have. But did not check out the dimensions yet. The guy with the evo sold his car so cannot go to him. I gues with everything if there is enough interest anything can be made.

Need to bump this up. I installed all new KYBs with new h&r springs. It feels like I'm driving a lowered civic now. I absolutely hate the ride. Is this bouncy feeling normal with this setup or did I possibly get bad parts? How do I deduce the problem? I'm very tempted to throw the stock springs on because the lower look is not worth this ride.

Wow, this is the first I heard about the ride quality of H&R Spring and KYB combo. This combo should give you a firmer more controlled ride quality over the stock suspension. Hope its not the wrong spring you got there.

There was one guy oversea was complaining about the ride quality too, but he was looking for more of those old caddy boat ride quality instead of firmer and controlled.

It's terrible. I have a 2012 mustang on sport line springs which are a 2" drop and the ride isn't as bad as this. It's ver disheartening. I'm wondering if the struts/shocks could be bad. I would never have thought a 1" drop spring would ride like this.

I would verify the spring part# stamped on the spring to be sure the spring is for the FX. I know some spring spring for Murano do fit into the FX and gives a very bouncy ride.

I just went out and verified everything. The springs are correct. Part numbers are correct. It all matches up.

Everyone on this forum (except one that I mentioned above) runs this combo loves them. Assuming the "bouncy" feeling you described as in it bounces up and down multiple times over bumps?

I am dealing with the same bouncy "lowered civic" feeling and I'm on Megan Coilovers. I am trying to be patient and testing different adjustments, but the reality is, they are probably coming out soon. I was thinking I was going to go with the KYB / H&R combo....

One time I learned is everyone's butt is different, "rides good" can mean anything. No noises, couch on wheels, tight turning.

coilovers on the other hand offer all the adjustments u need. if u can't find the right adjustment for ur comforts, bring it to a tuning shop. Don't bring it to Firestone or dealership, take it to someone who sells and sees coil overs on a daily base. Pay them to set it up for a softer ride, adjust the preloads.

For example. If I'm driving and I try to put my head on the headrest. It's like hitting my head every half second or second over every bump or crack in the road. It handles good, but is very bouncy and jumpy. My mustang isn't that bad which why it's weird for me. And that's full on race suspension lol.

I run the H&R springs and KYB combo on my FX for about 1 1/2 years now and its very firm not bouncy at all. Maybe you got bad shocks they do come with defects sometimes. Just my thought.

I took apart the front and when I push the front strut tubes down they come up VERY VERY slowly. I run a shop for a living and usually with new struts they want to pop up quick and are hard to press. So I emailed kyb and asked about this and am waiting for a response.

That doesn't sound abnormal, but it's hard to fully picture ride quality based on words. The FX is heavier than your Mustang so that impacts the ride. My FX rides worse than my 335i coupe which has much lower profile tires and way more suspension mods. When I had H&R's, it was definitely firmer than the OEM springs. Most people love that part, but some may not.

You can't judge a shock by how easily it pushes down by hand or pops back up. Every shock is different. If you take a shock for a Civic and then a shock for the FX, the FX shock will be harder to push down and it will come up slower. That's because the compression damping and rebound damping are going to be much higher on the FX due to the much higher weight and spring rate. If a shock pops up quickly, it has low rebound damping and that means every time your car hits a bump it would bounce back quickly. So that's not necessarily a good thing. Have you tried pushing down your OEM shock? Mine are pretty hard to push down and don't come back that quickly.

For example. If I'm driving and I try to put my head on the headrest. It's like hitting my head every half second or second over every bump or crack in the road. It handles good, but is very bouncy and jumpy. My mustang isn't that bad which why it's weird for me. And that's full on race suspension lol.
