Thank you J3FFER$ON, you are the first with something useful besides "you should have got a FX50". It's not so much a power problem as I have stated before as it is of how the vehicle is tuned to respond to inputs so an FX50 would have the same issues. I know a lot of people that have not had custom tuned vehicles(especially from a great tuner) have a hard time getting what I am talking about and I understand because I was in the same boat before. I guess it's kind of like you don't know what better is until you have had better than what you are used to sort of thing.
The best way to describe it is with the factory throttle pressed at 20%, it tells the engine to respond with X amount of power. All I want to do is move the X amount of power to only 5% or %10 compression of the throttle. With DBW ,or Electronic Throttle Control in Jefferson's post, you can change that with a custom tune along with the torque converter lock up giving you a instantaneous power feeling instead of the delay you feel with normal driving in the factory tuned map. Like I said before, the power in the FX35 is good at WOT so adding more is not going to fix the issue , it is how it is tuned for normal driving that sucks.
I also noticed that the vehicles torque converter takes a long time to lock up in regular drive mode. I understand that this good for fuel mileage and slightly smoother shifts but a lot of the engine's power is being lost when it isn't locked up. If a custom tune can get the torque converter to lock up sooner or instantly after each shift then this would make for slightly firmer shifts but you will keep a lot of your power so it can be applied to the wheels instead of loosing it before it gets to the transmission. The sport shift mode, or selectable shift, locks up the torque almost instantly which is why you feel a firmer shift and little more power feel. I want to apply this to regular drive which can also be done with a custom tune. According to distributor for the Sprint Booster's website, they only make them for the 03-08 FX's. I would link it but I am not allowed to yet per this forum's regulations. So, does any one know any good custom tuners that tune FX35's?
