Just thought I'd share a month's worth of MPG calcs. I bought my 08 FX35 on 9.2.08. It had 37mi on the odometer. I travel the northeast for business and for the last few yrs have flown most weeks. However, since taking ownership of the FX, I've decided to drive much more often. The FX has made driving fun again for me

Note, this is a TON of miles for me. As I stated above, my driving in the last 2 yrs has consisted mostly of the 45mi trip from home to the airport. The thought of flying to JFK for instance and renting a Ford Explorer for a trip to Long Island or Jersey isn't appealing at all any more. The only time I refuse to drive is when I'm in Manhattan. I stay in midtown and take cabs anyway, but the idea of valet parking at a garage scares me. I know those guys deal with much nicer vehicles than mine, but I just don't want to risk the little door dings and bumper scratches. I'm still in the honeymoon stage afterall.
Obviously it's mostly highway miles and I tend to cruise at 75-80 MPH...sticking with traffic. However, getting on the highway is a joy. That's when I tend to have a heavy right foot. I haven't compared my calculations to the internal trip computer. I wonder how accurate it is.
I installed a K&N drop-in at 2312mi and got my 1st oil change at 3766mi from the local Nissan dealer. I'll switch over to Mobil 1 after a couple more oil changes.
My last vehicle was a new generation 05 Nissan Xterra. It had the same 3.5L motor. My MPG was a bit less than the FX, maybe 17MPG overall.
