Metro was getting a shipment of the FX50 and they had 2 GTR on the truck so they had to unload the GTRs to get the FX50's off.....

ah, very cool. Can't wait to see one on the road soon. I have seen them in person, but not in action.

is Metro Infiniti a mod friendly dealership?

anyway I have this problem. When I changed spark plugs few weeks ago, we found that there's enigne oil all around the sprak plugs area and the leak is most likely from the valve covers and the seal which should need new one. Coz my car doesn't have cat, so there's white smoke coming out of exhaust from the buring enigine oil..................
Will the warranty cover the valve covers and seal if the oil leakage really from there?

is you FX still under warranty? (04?) they are real nice there, but you have to talk to Cheryl about it (service manager).

white smoke coming from exhaust (the rear?). I wonder how it will get in the exhaust from the valve cover seal leaking? Because if oil drips on the test pipes, it will just burn and smell real bad. you might have other problems. White smoke is usually caused by water or coolant (http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_causes_white_smoke_from_exhaust) hope you take care of it soon and good luck:smile:

yea, I bought the extended warranty. But I have the plenum spacer and change the pipes from headers down, so but wanna get "blame" before they look at my engine................

yes, the white smoke coming out to the rear exhaust and the smell is burning engine oil. About the problem, we are not 100% sure if it is really the valve cover, but there's engine oil around the spark plug hole area and u can see the oil all over the 3 to 4 spark plugs, so should be leak from top to bottom which should be the vavle cover area. When we clean the oil on each valve cover and the spark plug holes, the smoke did significantly become less for a few days.

Had another car that used to have oil drip into the spark plugs causing it to burn white smoke, usually there's a leak in the valve gasket causing it to leak into the plugs. Have you had to add oil once in awhile?

yes, that's exactly what we thought as the problem and changed the valve gasket, but there's still tons of white smoke coming out. The only thing left that will cause the leak should the valve covers which are pretty expensive, so the mechanic asked me to find out if warranty will cover that and I don't have to pay for it myself.

when we pour the engine oil out, there's only less than 2 quarts of engine oil left which I just have an oil change less than 3 weeks and 500 miles ago!!!!!!!

I just wanna say Cheryl is the best service advisor in the world!!!!!!!
She provided me with excellent service throughout my whole enigne probelm process.

After my 2nd enigne oil consumtuion test, Metro said my engine burn too many oil and decided to give me a new engine~:err::frown:
I might open a new thread and talk about the whole story.

Again, Cheryl is the best!!!!!

Yes, Cheryl is the best. I just picked my FX today from service. Congrats on the new engine.

I have no idea, I was kinda shock when she break the news to me. Coz I always thought the valve cover and gasket are the probelm.
The engine will be at Metro next week and I will ask her about the details then~

The luckiest part is that the eninge is cover under the powertrain warranty which is 5yrs/70k miles and my car is 4yrs10months and 69221 miles!!!!!

about 2 months ago, I went to my mechanic to install downpipes and change new spark plugs. We found that there's enigne oil all around the sprak plugs area and the leak is most likely from the valve cover and gasket. Since I installed the downpipes, tons of white smoke were coming out of the exhaust from the buring enigine oil. So I went to Cheryl and talked to her about the problem, they did find out the leakage from the valve cover and gasket and repleaced new one. To be more cautious, they decided to do an engine oil consumption test every 1000 miles to see if the eninge is also causing the smoke. The first test they found out my car burn off 1 quart of oil and so I have to come back for a second one. Today was the second test, they found out more eninge oil were brun off and decided to give me a new engine.

Good thing you got it taken care of and a new engine to boot!

the "new engine mod" sounds good! it should be fun if you ever try and sell it. i know it has all these miles, but the engine is actually new at 70k haha. hope it is working out well for you

hahaha......yea~ I guess I should start a new thread in the enigne mod and title as "the ultimate enigne mod--------a new engine"
