Hello members,

I am running with a 2003 fx35 AWD. I have had a major issue with my fx in the past 2 weeks and with no solutIon. About 2 weeks ago I was driving around 20 mph and the SLIP/VCD OFF lights popped on and my car when almost into a neutral state (Very scary stuff). I pulled over and turned off the car and turned it back on and then proceeded with no issues for about 3 days. It then happened again, this time when I turned off the car and turned it back on I could not get any gas when i put it into drive (SLIP/ VDC OFF STiLL APPEAR ON DASHBOARD). I took it to the shop and they brought it an electrical guy who replaced some wires. Two days ago it happened again on the highway and I had to get it towed all the way back up the NJ parkway. My back brakes were replaced about 45 days ago so I dont think it could be that? Any suggestions? One of the strangest things is that when I got it towed back up north and had it dropped off the tow truck , the SLIP/VDC OFF light was not on. This seems to happen, where it occurs and then when I bring it to the shop the guys cant get it to break to see the same issue I am seeing.

Any advice is greatly appreciated here, thank you!

I had this problem, and it is indeed scary. I would be making a right turn into traffic, I go to step on the gas and nothing... No power yet the car is still running. Turn it off and on and the car seems fine, but have the cel on.

I'm sure you're getting code u1000. Did your mechanic replace some ground wires? Some other wires to check are the 2 ground wires behind the dash and ground wire at the ecu. Dealer quoted me $1000 to fix as they have to tear out your dash to get to those 2 ground wires.

Check and tighten all of the grounding points you can find before getting to those 2 behind the dash. I did that and haven't had a problem since.

I am a new member I have a 2005 FX35 AWD 93000 miles. Today my low tire indicator beeped long and loud at me. I pulled over to see what was wrong and from an eye view everything looked okay. I kept driving and pretty much drove all day. I took it to a car wash and still no issues, I got home parked it for about an hour and then went to go to the store and the VCD/SLIP lights were on also my check engine light also came on. Then when I put it in gear the balls that the car once had were gone. I checked the brake fluid as your site instructed but it was full, I bought the car the last week of January 2014 when I got it the dealership put $2500.00 worth of work to it. they replaced the brakes, belts oil/air filter. I'm not sure what to do at this point. I called the Nissan Dealership and they say the car's computer is in safe mode and thats why the car will start but when you give it gas it does not drive. The car thinks there's a flat tire so the computer doesn't want you to drive on flat tires. any ideas?

Try a reset.
Easiest way would be to pull the battery cable off . . pump the brakes a few times & then reconnect. Easy & worth a try

My tpms has beeped at me a few times but the warning has always disappeared after stopping the car and restarting, and never given me any other warnings. I think one of my sensors has a minor issue. That being said, I don't think the tpms has any affect on the engine control system so I think your check engine and VDC/slip lights are caused by something else. Get the codes pulled as payyourtoll says and post them up. There are many reasons why your engine may go in to limp mode.
