hi,

I am still looking around for a nice FX35, my 2005-2008. Can anyone tell me something about maintenance costs for a car like this. I won't drive that much with it, I think around 15k miles per year.

As far as I can read on this forum there a no real reliability issues, is this correct?

If there are some Dutch readers with specific information for The Netherlands they are more than welcome to respond :)

I am just figuring out if this car will not be a financial disaster for me in case you get high repair costs. Support will mostly been done by Nissan deaers, does Infiniti use a lot of Nissan parts?

Maybe it sounds weird but I really like this car and need something to convince my wife :)

Finally are there any particular points to check when buying a second hand.

Thanks
Remco

I've done nothing but oil changes, brake pads, and fill it up with gas since I've had my FX oh and recently changed my spark plugs. For me its been more than reliable, I give it a :good:

I would worry more about spending your cash on mods if you frequent this forum rather than spending it on maintenance.. these car's are almost worry free.

i would say avoid 2003, 2004 and 2006. Ive seen allot of problems on these years.

I have a 03 with 160k miles. Pretty reliable. I've changed, battery, plugs, alternator, and need a power steering pump. That's over 4 years or so

There's been nothing wrong with my 2006! >:(

Well.. except for a worn heat shield. I believe I have at least 130K miles now. Changed the oil every 3250 miles till 100K, now my interval is 4750 miles

I had my 03 for 4 years, to 90K without any major issues. Only thing that seems to hit them often in the power to the rear door locks and the CD player deciding to randomly skip for no reason. My 07 which I purchased last Jan has not had anything mechanically wrong with it. Brake pads, tires, batteries.... thats about it. Sister has an 09 too, same thing, just basic maint., no mechanical issues at all. I would recommend one to anyone looking for something reliable. :) Good luck!

Welcome to :iS:
Dag I used to live in Brunsum,Netherlands I have a 04 with over 100,000 miles on it and so far.....
Replaced battery,Replaced leaking oil cooler o ring, getting ready to replace both front wheel hub assy's.
And passenger door lock actuator needs to be replaced.
Other than that just your usual maintenance items like brakes, struts and shocks around 60,000miles,filters enc......

I have an 07 with 32K+ miles. The only expensive out of pocked I did on the car are the mods. Other than that, just meeting regular oil changes, gas and oh, the constant cleaning of a black car.

Dracula, would you mind expanded on your statement? I have an 04 w/ 130K+ on it with no "maintenance" issues, now you got me worried.

Yeah my 04 has 111k with no problems either. Just regular brakes maybe rotors change and oil change every 3k and did transmission flush 10k ago. Might replace my front wheel bearing but thats about it. Other than regular maintenance its running strong. Oh and get ready to spend that saved money on some mods if u do get a fx!
