magnetic oil drain plug?

hey guys,

does anyone know where i can get a reliable magnetic drain plug? i'd buy an NRG one or even an ebay one, but for some reason i keep thinking that the worst can happen - the magnet would go loose and travel into the engine from the plug.

thanks!

66 bucks for that? Shoot i would just buy some good strong magnets and slap em around my oil filter lol I have the magnetic drain plug on my fx. Does what it has to do. Every oil change it gets a little dirty with particles.

I would think the filter mag would work better as all the oil is going through filter at one time or another and then trapping it in the filter where it belongs. With the drain plug you are only catching what settles in the bottom of the pan, therefore there will still be deposits left inside the motor. The other thing to remember is that probably 90% of our motors are aluminum! Hence (non magnetic). I wouldn't see why you couldn't put your own magnets on the filter and save some money.

Kics and Greddy make Nissan/Infiniti plugs that are very nice.
I bought mine from RallySportDirect.com and it works great, I've used them on my other cars as well with no problems.
