I love my FX45, but as with most vehicles, they have their own set of special little problems. I can get as much as 18 mpg while driving 1 mpg slower than the speed limit, and it tows a massive sailing catamaran easily. I have figured out some things, and have my own Nissan Consult computer hardware and software, I've had to use it as previous owner unplugged the Throttle body,so I had to refresh, took 5 minutes. The PCV system is little over built, and the intake was sucking oil mist. Also my alignment seems slightly off, but I put four class 29 batteries(used heavy marine batteries) in the passenger floor, now it's perfect(I weigh 240 lbs.) Tires are wearing a little uneven, but I drive on very domed roads a lot. But still it's got 135,000 miles and runs purrrfect now. I'm gonna try to get 300,000 miles out of this thing.

I upgraded to aftermarket cams on the control arms. And I'm talking steady interstate/freeway speeds for hours on end. It doesn't bother me most of the time. But the weight makes a HUGE difference, even the position of the weight, it has to be as even as possible to my center of gravity. I one of those overly picky guys about alignment. I even put one small lead weight on either side of the steering wheel, it just reduces fatigue on those long late night emergency work calls.
Now these cars claim have "moly pistons", does that also means its got sleeves. And I've had the valve covers off (replacing the seals is easier than I thought) ; the "titanium valve train" seems pretty trick. But I did notice the shift lag after driving miss Daisy.
