Lower Window Trim Question

I have a question regarding the lower window trim. To get the thin black trim off or even install a new trim do you need to go through the inside door panel to do the work? Or is it a pry off and snap in type thing?

Reason I ask is on Sat. I had the dealer replace the lower fading black window trim and they put 2 dents in the door under the lower window trim on one door. Looks like the dents were caused by a screwdriver while prying the trim off. I caught it there at the dealer after doing a walk around. The manager was called out the he then call the tech that did the work. At first the tech denied doing the damage saying he took off and reinstalled from the inside door panel not from the outside. Then when I snapped:mad: (Dave knows) he said "ok ok I did it". After the tech walked away the manager said "I still don't think my guy did it". But he said he will do the fix. So he's saying I the customer am a lier and his employee is the honest one.

I have been getting service done at Cerittos Infiniti for 4 years now. I will give my review of them after they fix what they damaged.

Thanks

OMG! I was imagining you blowing a fuse even before you mentioned my name! :err:
So glad I was 30 miles away from that scene. Good for you for not putting up with that shit.
That should pop & push out pretty easily by the dent removal guys. Cant believe they tried to deny that, especially on such a clean ride.

Oh heck no!!!!! You shudda told them to call a paintless dent removal guy on the spot. I hate Cerritos.......:thumpdown::thumpdown::thumpdown::thumpdown:

I will have a long post on my 4 year experience from day 1 with Cerritos Infiniti in the coming days. I thought of you Dave when I was driving home....ya should have been there. I told the guys there that I got pissed when the guy denys it and saying i'm the one trying to cheat them.

The manager said he was gonna call me this week for the fix. If a dent wizard cant fix it then it will need bondo and paint. You guys think a dent removal guy can get into that spot? It looks kind of out of reach from the inside.

They are still giving me the runaround since March about fixing a crack in the quarter panel window.

Those dent guys should be able to fix it Gil. Theres a guy on the G35 forum that does that......i think Carlos went to see him a couple months ago.

I think they can get that. Inside interior panel comes off, then they push from both sides till it's just right. If there's metal up in that area on the inside, they have tools to fit inside there to do the pushing. Worse case, they would drill a small hole in the inside (which you'll never see) to get the push tool into that spot. This will deff. not need bondo or paint, & that's a good thing. This is an easy fix bud

Easy fix. Parkway infiniti up here in Valencia did something similar to that when they had my car in for some work about 2 years ago but in mine they put a scratch on top of my rear bumper. To their credit they fixed it without question when I told them about it after my inspection before I drove off the lot.
