Loud lifters on my fx45

Hey Guys

My FX has been sitting a week or so and this morning I came out to start it. Now I knew what was going to happen because it happens whenever I let it sit without starting for about 5+ days. Anyway I start it and the lifters are ticking loud like the engine was going to throw a rod or something. I have complained about this a few other times to Infiniti and they say its because all the oil drains and the oil/oil pressure needs to build back up. Now it has always gone away, but it just seems like itS some BS. My question is has anyone else ever had to deal with this? Thanks

Ton

I've noticed noise from the lifters no matter how long the car winds up sitting for. It always goes away and it is because the oil has drained down. Just don't beat on the car for the first few minutes and you'll be fine

I use Nissan oil filters on all of my cars. A combined 440,000 with Nissan filters and Mobil 1 oil with no issues. And the car with 230k miles is tracked several times per year with an oil change after every 6-7 30-minute track sessions. Car has probably 20-30k track miles on it. It sat in the garage all winter and there was a similar clatter when I started it up from all the oil draining down (4+ months!) but it went away. Not a big deal

4 months is a long time without a start does it make the noise under normal intervals?

Toncruse had this issue after only a week so maybe this filter bleed through applies to his problem.Wonder what oil and filter set up he is running?

Yeah, I was told by the dealer that its the fact that the oil drains down and when oil pressure builds back up its fine, but I just wanted to know if anyone else had experienced it. BTW..I use what the dealer uses, no oil filter. I may try something different.

What is a "normal" interval? It makes a lot of noise every time I start it but most of that is exhaust, rattles, starter squeal, etc. If you would consider normal overnight, the car does still have the same startup clatter to some extent
