Loose Side View Mirror

Hey guys,

I was wondering if any of you have also had any of your side view mirrors loosen up. I actually noticed it when I was closing my driver side door. Every time I would close the door, I would hear a light rattle. So I started looking around the inside of my door, the outside of the door, and finally realized that my driver side view mirror was loose!

I was just wondering if any of you have had this on their (new generation) FX?

I am bringing my FX to the dealer this coming week for an oil change, and I will have them take a look at it. I will let you all know what they say.

Not noticed it :-) Try to slam door a little less :tonguey:
 
never had that issue, but i did replace my right mirror on mu own as it got it, this mirrior is attached by 3 nuts and bolts on the inside. You can tighten those up but you have to take the door panel off to get to it, wierd that it would loosen up.

If you keep outside your car overnight,maybe some jealous people played with your mirror :mad: and messed it up. it is very hard to believe it untied itself

Fortunately I do not treat my car bad. She's my baby!!! She has indoor parking at home and at work! In fact, I even get mad at friends that slam my door, so believe me, no slamming there.

I really don't know how this happened. Could it possibly be because I always fold the side view mirrors with the switch? Every time I park, I press the switch to fold them in.

I woold be surprised if it would be because of that!!
 
I just notice my passenger side mirror was loose too. Must be from the car wash. Got to get to the dealer to fix it. I know I shouldn't wash it thru the car wash and only by hand, but you live in the NE with 30 plus inch of snow u have no choose.
 
what exactley is loose the swivel part of mirror or the complete set up and harness that is attached to the door?
 
I noticed the same thing on my 09 fx as well. The mirror was loose on one side only, but it went away after using the power folding function a couple times-- now both mirrors are tight. There must be sort of design flaw, I wouldn't be surprised if my mirror becomes loose again. I rarely use use the folding function. The looseness seems to be intermittent and I park away from most cars, so I doubt it got knocked by anyone.
 
Hey guys,
I went to the dealership this week and finally got the issue fixed. They couldn't tell me why it happened, but all they did was tighten the mirror attachment and that's it. I hope it doesn't happen again!
 
Got a first gen and mine fell off while driving on the freeway!
took to a bodyshop and they fixed the problem with a little glue, but now is loosen again!
