Hello All

Im interested in the FX50S and am considering trading in my 06 fx35 (sport package). Ive read the posts concerning the fx50s transmission and akward shifting. Ive test drove it once before and thought maybe it was me. Ill have to test drive it again to see if its something I can live with. Maybe the dealer can let me have it for weekend. Do all dealerships offfer this?
There are a couple fx50s that im interested in. One is a 2010 and the other a 2011. Also one of the fx50s im interested in is at a Ford dealership. What concerns should I have if I dont purchase from an Infinti dealer? or is it not advised? What other problems do i need to look out for on the fx50?

What would be consider a fair trade in value? My FX35 has the sport package. If there any other concerns or tidbits that i ned to know of please let me know.

Thanx
A Cocerned Buyer

FX50S is amazing. I would get one again. No need to be concerned about getting one from Ford dealership. Worst case scenario if there are some issues, then after a month of you driving, write down any concerns and then bring to Infiniti dealership to have them take care of all the concerns for free under full warranty.

Any problems that have been reported have been taken care of by the dealership. If you are curious what problems have occurred in the past (not that many) or what mods you can do to enhance your FX even more (which there is some pretty awesome stuff you can do) then I suggest visiting the FX 2009+ sub forums:

Thx for the prompt response again on this forum.
There is a new elemnt in my search for an FX50. Ive found one that I like that has everyhting i want but its about 800+ miles in another state. What things should I be most weary of when making a purchase of this type. Its from an infinti dealership and he says that they ship. (Im thinking what he means by "they ship" is that they add that cost into the deal). I dont see them shipping that far for free. I will be trading my current 06 fx35.

Ive never made a purchase like this before and its good to get input and advice from folks who have done this before. Definitely appreciate it.

Im still in the beginning stages of the deal. I think I gave away that I am expected to pay for shipping by asking if that could be incorporated in the deal. I guess you pay for it one way or another. In their advertising they say they offer free shipping but not to my area (only tri state area). Im down south. I will find out the details of the shipping though. I will definitely note that to find out if its by truck or driving. I still need to know how the whole exchange would work though, me shipping my trade in to them and them shipping my purchase to me. Do they cancel each other out as far as the expense?

I am seriously considering the expense of flying there to put my eyes and hands on it. I would hate to make that major purchase to find out that there are things that they needed to fix which could affect the numbers and my bargaining. Once its shipped to me its not like I can drive down street to address my concerns and have it fixed. hopefully a warranty would take care of that at any local dealership. They did mention a week return policy but what good is that if Im 800 miles away. If had to return it then Im pretty sure all that is on me so all this Im trying to crunch together and make my best educated decision. They want me to make a deposit to hold the vehicle which i guess is standard.

Also going to ask about the taxes as well.

All who has any experience in any part of this process I welcome your input. Even if you dont pleas reply.

Sweet looking FX50S BTW. I never really considered white, but it looks sweet.

Thx again.

I live in MI and flew to Tenessee to buy mine. I prefer to see it before I purchase instead of dealer ship, but that is just me. The dealer will typically pick you up from airport and accommodate you in any way for free. Nothing to worry about purchasing out of state. You just pay taxes when you return to your state. Financing can be harder since most good finance rates are typically local to that area and may not finance to somebody out of state, but a good dealer will work with you.

thanks! I love white...that was my #1 color when looking.
