Looking to buy an FX!!!

Hows it going guys!! ive been reading a bunch of your posts and i cant wait to have an FX!! Im in the chicagoland area and im really close to buying a 2004 FX35. i just have a few questions for you guys..

first ill tell you the details.. its a 2004 fx Black on brick leather. It also has the stock 20 inch rims. It has about 74,000 miles and still has the factory warranty left. It is obviously used and has some bumps and bruises. if everyting works out i will be paying 16,500.. good or bad???

1. so can anyone tell me if it has a sport package or a touring or if it could be a base fx or something.

2. ive seen some pics of some other 04 and 05 engines and the plastic covering of the engine is usually a little black and mostly silver that spells "infiniti" on it. when i looked at the engine bay it was a little dirty, but the plastic was all black and nothing fancy was on it or anything:tears:. Does that mean its a different engine or something?? it sounded nice and had good pickup. But is it the g35/350z engine also??

3. theres cracks on the bottom of the drivers seat, like on the sides and front, will the factory warranty still cover that??

4.PLEASE HELP!!!!

03 & 04 had all black covers. 05 thru 08 had same cover with silver paint op

16,500 sounds like a good deal to me I paid 21k a year ago for my 04 AWD
 
If it has 20" wheel and silver roofrail is a sport version. The leather issues are still under warranty so no worries..
$16500 2004 74+k under warranty.. Good deal.. Make sure it has a clean record..

How do you know if its AWD or not. I turned the key in the ignition and when the lights came up.. no AWD sign appeared, there is a snow button tho!! i guess ill just have to check for another axle going to the front...

also the carfax is clean, so as soon as my mechanic clears it i think i will be having myself a new car!!!

Does it have an extended warranty on it or something? the basic warranty is 4yr/60K with the powertrain covered for 6yr/70K.
 
Welcome to the FX Scene! ^^^ Yes I agree, unless that FX45 comes with an extended warranty you are out of luck on the cracks on the driver's seat. The original factory warranty is 4yr/60k. But if you can make a deal with the dealer to replace that seat prior to purchase then I would try and get that done!
 
I believe It is an extended warranty.. He told me It expires in the next 20,000 miles or by 2011!!

I read the carfAx again and it did indeed tell me it was a rwd fx.. Anyone know how the rwd handles in the snow?!?
Being in the windy city isn't fun in the winter...
