Long-time gawker, first-time owner 03 FX35

Hello all,

Just bought my first FX (and by "just", I mean 3 hours ago) and I'm already in mad love with this beast of a car!

Unfortunately I already ran into my first little problem and need advice (don't worry, it won't change how I feel about the car).

Problem: pass side front window will NOT go down on AUTO. I can hear the solenoids clicking but NOTHING. I can however, hold the down button and the window will respond by going down all the way however, if I let the button go it will immediately go back up?

I've had issues with my previous car where the window would go up on AUTO and then right back down upon reaching the upper limit, but that was due to an aftermarket glass being installed. This is different however as it is in the opposite direction.

Anyway FX brothers (and sisters), any help/advice would certainly be VERY welcomed.:frown:
 
Welcome to IS. I am sure that someone on here will be able to help you soon. Alot of good guys on here. Never had this issue but I am sure that with the great guys on here they will have a solution for you ASAP
 
I had the the second issue you described where the window would roll up and then roll back down. This was after the body shop had the door apart and they fixed it. Not really sure what they did though so I will be no help.

Hopefully some one else can walk you through your issue. Hey - Welcome to the forum!

Another thing I just tried and wanted to share:
I locked the car and then used the FOB to automatically open the windows by holding the unlock button and this kinda worked - the pass window went down but this time it stayed there! awesome (so I thought), but as soon as I start the car the pass window (only) goes up right away without the pressing of any buttons

Kinda sounds like an issue with the anti pinch sensor, but in reverse. Maybe there's a window position sensor that has gone bad? Can you not take it to the dealer, or was it from a non-Infiniti dealer?

Yeah, the pinch function comes to mind except it doesn't make sense for Infiniti to have engineered that in reverse since there's no way to pinch someone while lowering a window.

As far as taking it to a dealer - I'm apprehensive for two reasons: stealers, I mean dealers are way expensive and also the nearest dealer is not quite around the corner.

Besides, I find that more often than not, it is people like the ones in this forum that are actually more knowledgeable than they are.

*note: the car was purchased from private owner who really took care of it and was actually perplexed as to why that happened (he hadn't experienced the issue)

Trade it in now... lol. I've been thru hell with mine. had it for 2 months! back to the dealer again next week for an engine knock, sick life.
 
Welcome! I too am an FX gawker, except that I am still searching for my FX...

Good luck with the window problem. Maybe you can try calling your salesperson back (if you bought it at a dealership) and ask them to take care of it since you just bought it.
 
Update: I didn't have much info on how to tackle the situation and I tried everything except taking the door panel off and performing a reset procedure without success. I pulled the tools needed to tackle the reset and went out to the car to do the job and decided to try once more to activate with the master switch, then the FOB, without success. However, after the second attempt using the pass door switch - VOILA!! don't ask me how as I suspect a ghost or divine intervention but the window now works properly and seems to have been reset by just using the pass door switch. I'm not going to try an rationalize why that (the simplest of things) worked 'cause I don't want to piss off the door Gods!

Anyhow, thanks again for your input all the same.
 
Maybe resetting the limit settings will help see this thread for instructions----
