Lojack check up?

I got a notification asking me to bring my FX in to have some kind of 2 year annual checkup to be performed on Lojack installed in my FX. Not at the dealer but a Lojack location They want me to pay $79 to see if the system is still functioning and to make sure it's working in top order. Should I pay it? They say they recommend it every 2 years. Never heard the dealer mention this when they installed Lojack for me when I got it.
 
yeah I do. I thought the only thing I would just have to worry about is keeping the batteries changed in the remote fobs they give?
 
yeah change those batteries but never heard of any maintainence on the lojack.... only thing u can do is take a drive w/ the key but leave the lojack fobs at home... see if it works and calls you right away

How do I know if my LoJack is working?
Your LoJack is tested and certified at the time of installation. We then recommend an inspection of your LoJack every two years. Inspections cost $79* and can be arranged by calling 1-800-4-LOJACK (1-800-456-5225).
