LMS intake or Fujita intake and some new question

Hi guys:

I have been reading a lot of helpful posts on IS. And a lot of advices are really helpful.

I am just still confused about something and some of the question may be embarrassing but please forgive me, since I am a newb. :4tongue:

I would like to install a CAI or SRI for my 03, FX35.

1. Which intake kit would you guys recommend? (LMS or Fujita) And any spacers need to be purchased to install the kit?

2. My MAF screws are diagonal instead of straight across (even thought I thought 03 model should have the old style straight across). Do I have to modify my intake kit to mount my MAF?

3. Do I have to reset my ECU once the intake is installed? I have read some said it's better to reset it but some said it is not necessary for the old model. :ooh:

4. Is it better to place the filter cone in the air box or is there any aftermarket airbox that required for the intake kit or the kit come with a custom air box?

Any advices are greatly appreciated. Sorry for the newbie questions. :6wink:

Cheers

High flow intake kit or the z-tube intake kit? What's the difference?:ooh:

CAI = removing the stock box and replacing it with some sort of cone filter.
Ztube = you use the existing stock air box just replace the tube/piping.

Just saw the Stillen intake kit with z tube package. The cone filter came with the kit, is it K & N filter and will that fit the airbox?

I kind of prefer the bling bling look in the engine bay. :4tongue:

Btw, thx for the info, Dr.2K and Psicline

Thx themerchant.

That looks good!! Where do you get the CF tube. Along with your engine cover, they are beautiful. :top:

the engine cover and cf tube was bought separately. I found the CF cover on ebay for a steal. I bought the tube from a 350z owner at my350z. CF tubes are harder to find. but people are still selling them (mostly used)

since the 350z and G35 have similar engines, we can use some of there parts.

I would say LMS. It is bolt on mod, no spacers needed to install. Also i really like the idea that Stillen comes with airbox.
Both are good but after getting my LMS i started thinking of getting an airbox.

Thx for the recommendation JoJo. I am still pending on LMS and Stillen. I like the bling bling look of LMS but the airbox of Stillen. Does the Stillen kit comes with the required spacers or those needed to be purchased separately?

Why they can not come up with a hybrid version intake that combines the airbox of Stillen and LMS?? :4tongue:

with a bit of surgery you can make the lms tube and filter fit the stillen box.
with a lot of surgery you can make the lms tube fit a stock box with drop in.(I only swapped to the below setup to reduce S/C'r noise)

Only problem is you will be cutting up your brand new lms tube and or stillen box...

Thx Jeff, I will need to do more research on that. By the way, did you guy install grounding kit? I read some post about grounding kit and found this:

http://forums.nicoclub.com/zerothread?id=345479

The guy is selling the grounding kit. My FX is the AWD model (well... there is only one model in Canada, FX 35/45 with a "AWD Lock" switch). Are the number of ground wires more for the AWD than the RWD?
