License Plate Lights

I'd like to swap out the regular license plate bulbs with LED ones.

How do I get at the light assemblies to replace the bulbs?

Ocal21, thanks for the quick reply but there are no screws.

Have you actually replaced the halogens with LEDS?

Any other ideas?

First remove #3 (Door handle cover)

Is there a trick to removing #3 Door handle cover?

I removed the 2 plastic rivers and pulled down. I did not want to pull too hard just in case I break the panel.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Access it from the inside, not outside.
1. Open trunk
2. Remove plastic cover. It's held on by plastic fastener tabs. Push the middle of the plastic fastener to remove it.
3. Pry the plastic cover by the edges which is clipped on.
4. Once cover is removed, you will easily gain access to the license plates lights.

Akachi, thanks for the tips. I managed to remove the plastic cover without breaking any of the tabs.

Just a FYI, the right side plastic panel pulls down from the hatch side and not from the back of the Infiniti finisher panel.

I highly recommend you apply painters tape onto the painted surface of the vehicle to avoid minor scratches since the plastic cover fits tightly.
